Design your own 68 hood

If you could design your own 68 hood for the Mustang GT how would it look and how would it function, scoops and heat extractors?

We are in the process of prototyping several new hoods for the Mustang GT, so heres a chance for you opinions to be viewed.

We have produced a 68 hood for the Shelby GT500, we wanted to do something different and modeled our heat extractors from the 03-04 Cobra.

TRCF #68 hood has functional scoops that channel the cool air from the scoops inbetween the inner and outer layers and dumps the charge over top of the airbox/CAI. The heat extractors are also functional not just for looks like alot of the inverted V louvers on some of the 68 hoods out there.

Heres a couple pics of TRCF #68 for the Shelby GT500 for you to work from.

More pics and descriptions of the hood and how it works here.

Id like to see that exact hood made for the non-cobra cars. It looks killer!

The hood strut bracing, do you mean something additional? we and some other but not all aftermarket hood suppliers reinforce the standard mounting and latching points with metal.

Price is relative, points to consider are;
Design
Functionality
1 or 2 piece construction
Hand laid or not
Quality and grade of materials used
Longevity of the hood, 3 yrs or 15yrs
Made in the USA or Mexico
Made by professionals or prison labor, no joke
Smooth finish inside and out
How much prep before painting
Fit and finish

Just a few things to consider when spending your hard earned money.

Since it's a retro looking hood (a good thing) I think the original louvered vents in the back would look better than the newer-style Cobra vents. Otherwise you're mixing styles. It's a minor thing, though. I think the hood looks very nice. I love retro!

I would like to see the vents in more of the location of the DCP hood... and also raised a little more. Just more aggresive... Do that and I'm buyin!

I wouldn't mind a 68 CS type extraction, (flat not raised) with a combo of vents and turn signals set about 1/3 back. Prefer Alum, made in USA.

(This may not answer your question but, thought I would throw it out there.)

Bad photoshop attached!

I would also like to see louvers to get the heat out instead of the extracters.

Gotta agree with Boltzman. I guess it boils down to if you want to sell a few hoods for a lot each or a lot of hoods for a little each. I would definitely be interested in this hood if it were lower in price or at least made out of aluminum to justify some of the extra price.
