cs6 hood
cs6 hood
im debating on getting the cs6 hood because it has got to be the coolest piece ever made... do you think it is a wise investment or a waste of money?
i can get the hood for a fairly good price and free shipping

I see where you are coming from, but then again, I spent the exact same price for a shaker hood scoop, also non functional, and that is just a small piece of a hood. So i guess if its the look you are going for, you do what you have to do. And like the shaker, that hood is just soooooo coool!
the does does look incredible but i am never getting a spoiler, i love the c/s front but ill get the cervinis chin instead, and i dont think ill ever add stripes to her. ill probably ditch the cdc window louvers and get the c/s side scoops tho.
Nick, I like rear spoilers and have the GT500 style on mine. I agree black stangs look equally sharp without stripes. I recently added a GT/CS hood scoop. If you decide to instal the side GT/CS scoops, I know a paint shop in Miami that will do a great job, at a reasonable price. Only problem, it's way down south in the Kendall area. If interested, send me a PM.
I've been considering the hood myself and really want it. Could you PM me with your info on a good price and free shipping?
Guys, I don't think he has a seller that is working with free shipping. I think Nick may be referring to the one I am selling, he is within 15 miles from me and I have been talking to someone from a local forum here.
Nick, PM me if that is you or if that is your friend talking to me on the South Florida Stangs board.

okay here's the scoop
i've got this hood since 7 months now, i love the look but hate the fit and finish.
the hood is double layered and the bottom layer is molded from the stock hood, however mine cured badly, and while the bottom layer looks just like the stock hood, it's way thicker and didn't clear many things underneath it.
the two layers weren't molded smoothly together, but instead you could see exactly where they both were glued, which i wasn't happy with and had to have it redone:

6 months later came the H.O whipple.. i finished the installation and wanted to take her for the first blown spin.
well.. darn hood won't close and i had to cut it up!

new fiberglass resin on, and hardner is being laid out

i still love the hood.. and won't trade it for anything except perhaps the GT500KR hood if it comes out
although mine took a lot of time and effort to make it work, i believe i was unlucky with a bad piece as nobody else had as many problems with their CS6 hood.
as for making it functional.. seeing all the work i've already done above, you'd probably be wondering why i haven't done it.
well i decided to go an alternative path, and mess with my cowl vent screens rather than with the hood.. still in the planning phase
final results

i've had the Redline Quicklift Elite struts since the day i got the hood.. and haven't had any issues with them
there are no dents where the mounting brackets are riveted on to the hood.. neither do i see any surface tension during opening or closing the hood. so i'm assuming they're pretty safe with this particular hood.
worst case scenario and if you're really worried, you can find some hood struts that attach the to the hinge bracket rather than the hood itself. and these should be 100% safe regardless what hood you use
