CS6 / GTH Hood Installed

Well I have not seen anyone post pics or heard of anyone actually getting thier order yet... So I thought I would post some pics. I have to go back this week to get the hood pins installed. First off, I would never order from shelby again. I have waited since April and then they charged me 230 to ship the hood. The quality is great and I like it, but the customer relations is horriable. I plan on getting silver strips and the CDC classic chin spoiler in spring. No point in putting them on now since winter is fast approching. I will post some better pics next week when the hood pins are installed.

Looks good. Definitely needs the stripes since the "indention" is so big. That's one of the few aftermarket hoods I'd consider buying.
Sorry to hear about your experience with Shelby. MAybe AmyB will see your thread. If they plan on staying in the aftermarket parts business, this isn't a good way to start.

Shelby will still be in the business regardless.. after all they have the name

my experience with them wasn't flawless either

i have a few comments for Shelby auto parts:
1. you should consider responding to emails more often (it took me an average of 6 emails to get one response back)
2. .. or perhaps you should return phone calls, especially when 99% of my attempts to call someone apart from the operator, ended me up on voicemail, where i left numerous messages that never got a response either.
3. inspect the order before shipping it out across the globe:
despite taking 2 months to prep the order, 3 mistakes were made shipping an order of 6 items..
i was sent an upper front grille instead of the hood grille (though in Shelby's defence, they made up for it and FedEX'd the correct part right away)
furthermore i paid for a Strut Tower Brace, which was present on all invoices, certificates of origin and shipping quotes, but not in the package..
later they told me it wasn't shipped for no clear reason
and i received 2 sets of hood pins

well i'm just happy i got my CS6 parts

After it rains, do you get a puddle of water in the middle of the hood?

No there are no vents in the CS6 hood. I saw a couple Shelby GT-H's this past weekend and they do have "bolt-on" vents (non functional)

I know all about Shelby Americans customer service all to well. I ordered the hood, waited, they called and said it was ready, two weeks latter it was still sitting on their dock. Then they wanted $400 to get it to me in 4 days

I have a Cervini hood now

Could you take a pic of the undeside of the hood, pls ?

i guess if you really get a big puddle, then you'd have to open up the hood and let the water slide back in wherever the windsheild washer water goes

The water just gives you a good excuse to take off fast.

sorry guys, We were not ready to handle the parts for the cs6. We are revamping the way we are going to do parts going forward. And hopefully you will all have better experiences going forward.

amy,

I really couldnt get a good answer from anyone regarding shipping when I called except that is what it cost. Why did it cost 200 to ship a hood when now it only says 70$ on a hood. This is a big difference!

I want to say the the quality was good. The installer actually said it was one of the best after market hoods he ever saw.

Something that big has to be shipped truck freight, which is a lot more expensive. For example, a 28 pound front bumper can cost $150 just because of it's size.

well i must admit that Shelby came through in making up for the mess with my order.
i just received my Strut Tower Brace which mysteriously disappeared from my shipment, although it was declared in the certificate of origin and shipping invoices.. they actually sent it by FedEX 2 days back, and i just had it dropped by at my villa today

if only they were more helpful sending me one of the GT-H signed dashboard plaques (without a serial number.. i just want Mr. Carroll Shelby's signature on my car.. especially since it has over 60 Shelby parts being fitted on it, from the GT500 and the CS6/GT-H)
Amy, can you help me there? i'm willing to cover any costs towards the plaque or CSCF!

i understand that it needs to be shipped frieght. Was I thinking it was going to be that much no. Plus, they should tell people of front about the shipping charges and not just slip it in at the end. Plus, my main point of frustration is that I was charged $200 and now the website says it is only $70 to ship. Why the huge change in shipping cost??

Ah. OK. Yeah I'd wonder about that also.
