I'm going to get some 18x9's for summer and can't make up my mind between Cragar's or chrome Bullitts. I grew up lusting after Cragar's but I can't see that much difference between them and the Chrome Bullits. Fit will be a big factor but what do you think of the Cragar S/S?

And of course I'm dealing with the size/offset issues which I won't go into here. Hopefully in a couple of months some 18x9's will be out with the correct offset or enough people will have bought them that I'll know they work. I might go 18x8, or maybe even 17x8 in front with the 18x9's in back. I dunno. I have a couple of months before I have to make a decision, and actually if I can't make up my mind will just use the stock wheels through the summer with the P-Zeros till next year.

I believe back in the 70's that Cragars were put on Chevys and of course the Bullitts were ment for Fords. Just something to consider. I was told that once, don't know if it's accurate, but rings true.

Blueheaven if Im not mistaken the Ford rims only come in 17" size , which is why I want the Cragers which are available in 18" size. I looked real close at the Mustang wheel catalog Brad has on this site and I'm pretty sure they only come in 17". I'd go Crager 18X9" myself. THey go so perfectly with the 05's Musclecar reto syle I think.

The advantage I see in these wheels is the potential for a lighter wheel/tire package. They are a forged aluminum wheel, so not only will they be lighter, but stronger as well. This should enhance handling and I just think the cragar ss wheel fits perfectly with the retro theme.
They are expensive, but worth the money IMO.

Did you get the Cragars. I am thinking about doing the same but will go with 17X8 and 17X9s.

Absolutely! Here's a chop someone did a while ago that shows them.

And here's a picture of someone's car (can't remember if it was from here or stangnet) with them. Yes, I have a black GT on order and will be putting chrome bullits on it.

American Racing Torque Thrusts. Those are what I will be getting in 18-9". Unless some other wheel catches my eye :bang:

Have you priced them. I was told they were special order and would be over $400 a wheel.
