So i am contemplating blacking out the center section of my hood on my redfire GT. I want the Steeda look and really like what Swingle did to his car. My question is this: How much would a reputable shop charge me to paint the black on my hood? For those of you that had it done, how much was it?

Thanks.

I think you could probably get a good shop to do it for as little as $300... but probabaly closer to $400.

You could definitely get your hood painted for 300. This is what my estimate would be.

Paint 4 hrs * $40 = $160
Sand & Buff 1.5 hrs*$40 =$ 60
Paint Material 4 hrs * $18 = $72
TOTAL $292

Thanks guys, that helps. But unfortunately this has been put on hold due to some asshats breaking into my car and trying to steal it.

I know yours is on hold, but I figured I would put my $0.02 in.

I am going for the same look. I have the back end done, now I need the hood. I got a quote from a shop near Pittsburgh. It involved other work, but when I broke it out, the hood was about $260 to paint.

Thanks. This might not get delayed for too long. All I need is a new keylock cylinder. If I can get away with a good quality job for $300 then it's a go.
