The only posts I can find are on the Eibach Pro-Kit and Steeda springs. IMO, those were PERFECT for the 99-04's but for my taste, they are just a little too much for the '05. To me they look the same way the Eibach Sportline or the H&R Super Sports(?) did on the 99-04's.
Are there any out there that will lower the car less than the Pro-Kit? Like the Mach I & Bullitt springs did for the 99-04's.

Jason,

I have been looking for quite a while and the ones you mention are the only ones I have found so far. There are some that drop it more but I have found zero that do less. I wish you luck on finding what you want and if I do come across any I will post here.

I would also be interested in some with a little less drop.

From what I have been reading on the board you will get less drop with the Steeda springs than the Eibach. Avg for the Steeda seems to be less than an inch and avg for the Eibach seems to be about 1.25. I personally think it depends on what you are doing about changing out wheels and tires. I have a set of Eibach springs, leaving on the stock bullits and mounting 255/50 tires. I think it will have a great stance and look imo~

I will be changing out the wheels & tires, but since I'm staying with the same diameter (going from 235/55/17's to 255/45/18's) those won't make a difference.

Thanks for the #'s on the Steeda springs. I thought they dropped it more than that. Unless something else comes along soon, I'll be going with those.

I have the steeda springs and the 18" tires that I put on have the same diameter as the stock. When I installed the steeda's the car dropped a little over 1" both front and rear.

How much are you looking to drop the car? I cut one coil off of each of the rear springs and it dropped the rear about 3/4". The front dropped about an eight to a quarter just by dropping the back. And now the car is leveled out. Here is a pic...

Now how could the front drop just by lowering the back. If anything I would have thought the front would have raised a little bit due to the new angle. Maybe it is physics but if you take a pen, or ruler, or whatever and place a pivot point in the middle, lower one end and the other end goes up.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. But, if you think of the very front of the car being the pivot point, and you drop the rear 3/4" at the wheels, the front would come down a tiny bit. I measured 1/8" on one side and 3/16" on another.

Your car with those springs is like corn bread -

"Ain't nothin wrong with that!!"

Personally, that stance/height is PERFECT to me.

I also like the lower stance. Unfortunately, my Mustang mod fund has long run out. I am building it up slowly, but have to cut corners anyway I can.

The Steedas only lower the car 1", if that. Any less of a drop and noone would even notice the difference, might as well throw the cash away IMO. 1" - 1.5" is not much at all, I REALLY think you'll be sorry if you only drop it ~0.5".

I agree in that if you dropped the car a half inch in the front and back, you couldn't tell a difference and it would be pointless. But if you drop the rear an inch and the front a quarter of an inch, and by doing so level the car, you could tell. And would be worth it I think. Maybe someone will come out with a spring kit that drops the car half of what Eibach's does.

I just don't understand dropping the car 1/2 inch. The point of lowering the car, for most people, is to get rid of the huge wheelwell gap. Why waste money lowering it .5", just get a higher profile tire if you are going to do that.

So guys (Adrenalin, Acadian), do I take it that you can drop the back and not have to touch the front???? I had a lowered F150 couple years ago, was a backbreaker literally. NO MORE.

But...I heard that ride/handling with the Steedas or Eibachs wasn't much off from stock. As for looks, the only area I'm concerned with is the rear end. Sitting flat, my gap plus rubber at the back wheel is 7.25" versus gap plus rubber at the front of 6.5". Therefore, a .75" difference. (my measurements are from the top outer rim lip to the centre of the wheel opening FYI)

I'd rather just drop the back to the tune of 3/4 of an inch so they're even - and no front end camber adjustments to worry about either.

This sound doable?????

Thanks - Mark

Adrenalin, (and any others using Eibach's) I really think that drop looks good, it's just not how low I want to go. Like I said before, it reminds me of the SportLine springs on a 99-04. Just a little too low for the look I want.

I think I like Mark's idea the best. Just drop the rear about 3/4". Just enough to get rid of the rake.

As for the higher profile tire, I don't want to change the speedo.
