Chrome Grille Highlights For My Pony...

Just a few bucks and a 25' roll of chrome door edge guard finishes off my Pony grille rather tastefully as if it was stock from the factory. Easy inexpensive mod and it will work as well on Standard V6 and GT grilles. For best results remove the grille to get the moulding to slip onto the edge of the grille easily. This was a ten minute mod.

Nice. How did you finish off the ends?

The hood brows itself over the grille enough that you cannot see the top ends with the hood down. However I just trimmed the ends even with the top ends of the grille. I am quite happy with this small mod.

I am a traitor and got it from Pep Boys

It was like $14.00 for a 25' roll and I think I only used maybe four feet. It's very flexible and conforms perfectly to the lower curves in the grille without deforming. AAP doesn't carry this in a roll which is required to get an uninterrupted strip. AAP just sells the door height length in pairs. I have quite a bit left over. We may be able to work out something.

The great thing about the Mustang grille is that it is beveled along the edges which gives it the right pitch for a factory looking flush fit. When I saw the new Bullit grille I really liked the addition of the chrome surround and I wanted that look. During a stroll through Pep Boys I stumbled accross that 25' roll of chrome door edge guard and realized it would be perfect for an uninterupted strip to finish off the grille.
