As I said in the other thread Don, that looks much better. It gives it the stance we have come to expect (based on how the old ones looked). Too bad CDC didn't give it this height in the first place.

I may have asked this before, but are you planning on going with any exterior mods to the hood e.g. 69 or 70 Mach 1 style hood?

Amazing how a little change can make it look sooooo much better, and it looked good to start with.

Thanks, guys!!

And no, AFBlue, I'm not currently planning any other exterior mods. Need to focus on getting to 450rwhp now.

that scoop reminds me of mad max in "Road Warriors" on that old Ford that he drove. lol. I love the scoop tho it looks great. If you want it to shake more just remove one of your motor mounts.

Nahhh.... that scoop is nice but Max had a (nonfunctional) Weiand blower sticking through the hood. A little different:

Then again, maybe Don's is better - it works.

nice job Don. I tore mine apart on the weekend to center it better. Off by about 1/8" so the next time I tear it apart I will raise it up as well. I didn't have longer bolts laying around to do it this time. It does look better, that's for sure.

Dayum... a blower sticking through the hood is just so cool... Of course, it needs to be polished.

There is definitely a spacer right below the scoop.

Oh man, they used the 03 - 04 style Mach 1 hood stripe. :notnice: This car screams for the 70 style hood stripe, that one is too narrow at the edge of the hood. Not working for me. I do like the height of the scoop.

I believe that is the FANG shaker system. If you look at the pic that shows the side you would see from the drivers side you will see a little bump near the center, just about the hood. That is part if the rubber intake. The way the FANG works is air goes into the scoop, then wraps around up through a rubber baffle where the air is then directed into the hood.

That sure does sit higher than the CDC shaker. Check out FANG's website. www.fangperformance.com
You can see that their system looks just like the picks above, but they have a different hood.

As I previously noted, some of us who got the Shaker a month or so ago, ended up with a scoop that was twisted towards the passenger side. To fix it, I had to modify the bracket by elongating the holes so I could shift it 1/8" to the driver's side so it would be centered. I send a note to CDC right after my install, letting them know about that design problem, as well as a couple other items. I just found out this week, from two guys who just got their kit, that the bracket now comes with slotted holes to allow adjustment. Apparently, CDC took note of the problem and has made a slight design change. So, for those of you who will get one in the future, that is good news!!
