CDC Shaker Installed!!!!

I got a great price from Brenspeed on my Shaker. I don't know if he wants it posted on the net as it's not the same price that on his site. If your looking for one give Brent a call. I picked mine up at his shop since I live in Indiana. I had Brent write a Tune for my SCT while I was there. What an awesome shop and a awesome guy.

As for the install, I will post some pic later on my ideas on hooking up the shaker to the JLT intake. I did use my Dremel and cut slits on the two tabs that the bolts on throttle body goes through. I was then able to leave the bolts in the throttle body loose and just then just slide the tabs over the threads. Then was able to tighten them down with a ratchet with an extension with out cutting the shaker. I don't know how long this took everyone else but it took me about 4 hours. You know the old saying measure 20 times and cut once. I admit I was nervous but I am so happy I did this myself. Heck I even left the work truck at home today and drove the Mustang just to show it off.

Tacobill, may I please be inducted?

To find the center of the hood I measured 6", 20" and 39" down on each side hood and placed a piece of tape. Then I was able to use a small light weight tape measure to measure across the hood and mark the center on the masking tape. One recommendation to anyone wanting to do this is to cover the front of the car with plastic including the windshield. Then cut a hole in the center about 6' away from where your going to be cutting into the hood. Then tape the hole in the plastic down to the hood. This will keep from getting metal shaving all over the paint. Believe me I had a mess.

When I started trimming the template with the razor knife, I could tell when I was cutting into the paint from the water discharge coming from my eyes.

Nice install! Looks great. Really changes the look of the car, doesn't it.
I had my kit for 4+ months before I finally cut my hood.
Nothing beats old school like a Shaker scoop on a Mustang.

On your mods, 'Wired in 3rd taillight', can you briefly explain that one?
Thanks

i did take my dremel and trim a couple little spots so i could get the bolts in easier, i will go back later and trim it up a little higher so it looks better...

i just bought another coupler and extended the shaker tube about 2 inches, then plumbed it into the heat shield just like the stock airbox sits.

worked out great for me! and i like the way it looks.
a lot of guys on here trim their shakers way down to just the scoop, i like it with the shroud personally, it covers up all the crap on the engine.
