As far as the airbox, it is probably a quick prototype just so they could show off the Shaker ... see how they just riveted the inlet to the top ?? The real CDC custom air-box probably was not ready for the photo shoot.

It's my understanding that a vehicle's hood surface is not a good source for "RAM-AIR" induction. So any O.E. hoodscoop like a shaker, Boss, 69-70 Mach 1, etc. scoop is more eye candy than fuction ... maybe a couple of HP. YES you get cold outside air, but it is not ramed in like you would think. To get the "RAM-AIR" effect, the scoop or air inlet must be above the hood surface ... as you see on serious drag-race vehicles.

Real fuction or not, the new CDC Shaker looks as good or better than the '03-04 Mach 1 ... excellent work !! Can we PLEASE see some photos with the hood closed ??

with this scoop?
Don't believe that those scoops were functional. On the 69 - 70 Mach Is only the shaker was functional.

I think you are right but ZRX4ME wanted that look, only functional.
In the post just before I asked if the 69 boss 429 scoop was like what he was talking about.

Yep, he must mean the 429. Think I saw a post here already where someone was talking about putting that monster on the hood. That would be interesting to see.

with the new throttle body type it would be cool if someone would do a '69-'70 mach 1 type of hood scoop(not shaker)and route the air like the 4th generation camaro SS's had.As the hood closed, the scoops air path would seal to the top of the airbox.
I think he meant function like the boss 429 but look like the 69/70 non-shaker scoop from the mach 1

While some people thought it looked ungainly, the MRT Interceptor at SEMA used a Boss 429-type hood scoop.

They need to paint part of that hood black, shaker looks good on the stock hood though. Glad to see that since that are my plans.

Ok, I guess I HAVE seen it with the hood closed ... forgot about those photos from SEMA. However, I don't remember seeing a "hood open" shot back then.

That is in fact the original prototype Shaker system that is on the CDC Mustang. The vehicle was at the NADA show in New Orleans this past weekend. The Shaker will allow you to use your factory hood or an entirely new hood that is pictured on the black Mustang. They do not have any pricing or HP numbers on this system since it is only the prototype model.

I think the carbon fiber look on the black CDC hood looks great! Sort of a modern version of the flat black, which got pretty ugly fast. A similar carbon fiber decal for between the tail lights would complete the car, IMHO.
