That gunk is glue or rubber cement or something... its been there since the day I picked the car up. Been meaning to either scrape it out or just jam it back down between the trunk and spoiler, but haven't done either yet. I always forget about it unless I'm looking at my trunk!

Well, what it looks like to me is 3M adhesive. I installed mine myself, and the only way I can think of that that would happen is if they had an alignment problem during install and had to remove, then reinstall the DT. Just my guess. My beef would be w/ the installer based on the pic, not CDC.
