CDC Classic Lip Owners
Did anyone mount their CDC classic front lip without using the 3M tape? I have one in my garage but never mounted it to the car.
I'm thinking of putting mine on for track days to act as an air dam, but I want to remove it when not at the track. I would only use the side screws to hold it in place, as well as the lip edge itself.
Thoughts? Is that going to fly off my car at 120mph?

I've had mine on for over a year without any 3m tape. I regularly do 80+ on the highway without problems. I think it actually helps minimize scraping since it has some give to it when you do go over steep curbs and bumps.

Well, there is really only one way to fine out. Personally, at 120 I think you might run into a problem. They really do fit well, but I would be somewhat nervous.

I have the 3M tape. But after hitting it a few times its lost its "stickyness". Like Leo said above. The no tape gives it some give. I do alot of highway dirving 80+. Its on fine with the two push screws.
I've done 130mph for a good amount of time no issues. I also take it to touchfree car washes sometimes where the undercarrige is pressure washed. Again no problems there.

The velcro sounds like an innovative idea, but I don't want to leave one side of the velcro stuck to my car permanently, either 
Anyone know how many cycles of removal/insertion that the wheelwell screws can take before the hole is useless?

Personally if I were you I wouldn't bother with this spoiler if you have to remove it and put it on so often. Why not look into another spoiler? Like the GT500 style.

I bought the CDC classic just over a year ago, but I decided not to use it, as the "personality" of the car changed completely when I added the GT500 wheels.
I'm just trying to see if I could use it for the track, as I've already paid for it. Otherwise, I'm not going to put anything on it.

IMO you would be ok without the tape. The two push pins and screws hold it. Not having the tape also may help from getting some damage since it will raise up if you hit a parking curb.

Well I took a look at the fasteners for the spoiler, they screw into some of those folded metal receptacles--so they should be pretty resilient to repeated insertion/removal. If not, I'll just get some new ones.
I replaced the push-pins w/ a set of 9/16" Bolt/Nut/Washers on each side.

It will be fine without it. As several have said it will let it lift up a little when it rubs going up or down a steep incline. Better to scuff off a little paint from the bottom than break a big chunk out it because of the lack of a little give.

I have tape on mine and I've jammed it into curbs that were deceptively high and scuffed it off of the pavement when going in and out of parking lots and with the tape on there it still has a huge amount of give in it. For those that said you had it up to 120MPH with no problem, did you get out and look at the spoiler while you were going 120?

I was wondering about this as well, if it would be folding under at all. Our next event on a track where we'll be able to hit those speeds is in May, so maybe the track photog will get some shots of me on the straightaway that we can use to see...

Obviously not but, I've taken it on 100 mile trips where I occasionally speed over a 100 and when I arrive at my destination the chin spoiler is sitting where it supposed to. So assuming it is moving it's obviously not enough to warrant putting the 3m tape. Smartass.
