i was on ebay i came across a carbon fiber trunk lid and 2 hoods. I personally like the idea of a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid just because it would make my car look a little different from the rest of the 05s that i have seen lately.

What do you all think of carbon fiber parts on mustangs? I asked my friends what they thought and they said it would make my car look like an import, but i want to hear some other constuctive ideas and thoughts. Heres the link to the site http://www.seibon.com/

i fogot to add there are doors also

I could MAYBE dig the hood. A very faint chance though. I vote for the non-carbon look normally though.

it wouldn't look terribly out of place on a black car, and it's not like you can't paint over carbon fiber. right? it doesn't specify how much weight is saved though, but if the price were right and the weight was low enough i'd go for it

I agree. The carbon hood might look good on, say, a yellow car. Kind of a retro Boss thing. But that's about how far I'd personaly go with carbon. But it's your car and if it makes you happy, to heck with everyone else.

I'd say get the hood but not the trunk. I love my CF hood and plan on getting a CF spoiler to match, although nothing huge.

Here's a pic of mine I took last weekend.

im considering the hood and im debating the trunk. My car is performance white. I not too concerned about the performance benefits, just the look.

Yes, I need hood pins, although I haven't gotten around to purchasing and installing them. The hood is still secure, but at speeds of 80+ the sides really start to balloon and shake.

Installing the hood was incredibly easy and takes less than a hour. Basically you first have to remove some of the lining from the stock hood so that you can unplug the tube for the washer fluid, then unscrew the bar on the front of the hood that goes into the latch, then there's only 4 screws that hold the hood in. When putting on the new hood, screw in the 4 screws that came with it and screw the bar that you took off the stock one for the latch.

My hood was very good quality and was made by VIS Racing. I purchased it from www.grounddynamics.com. Seibon is also a good company. My friend has one of their hoods on his 350z.

As long as you dont forget to paint them, they will be fine. Forget to paint them and they look like crap.

Over time, yes they will fade, but you can have them redone once they do by sanding and putting a better quality clearcoat on them from a paint shop, or you can decide to paint them at that point.

Different always means better right?

IMO
If you're going to leave the CF exposed to look different, get an import. I would always gett he CF painted. You don't see CF race cars unpainted now do you?

different doesnt ALWAYS mean better, but i think it would make the car look unique. Just out of curiousity, why do people tend to associate exposed carbon fiber parts with imports? Also TehSLeeper, i do see your point though.
