Curious what the popular opinion is on Boss style "C" stripes on an 05-09 that is obviously not a Boss from the factory.

 

I have them on my car, and really like them. They're not something you really see on S197s and I always get compliments on them.

Edit: mine don't say boss, and I definitely wouldn't put boss on my car, if it wasnt.

Thanks! Sometimes I think about taking them off and doing white hood stripes instead, but I've got more important things to spend money on first.

 

I actually prefer black stripes on silver myself, so I'd vote for keeping the black stripes. My Stang is black, so I've gone back and forth on stripes and the color. As you can probably guess by the thread, I was debating going with a BOSS style C stripe....thinking maybe red. Here's a pic of how my Stang looks now:

 

Your car looks nice! I really like the 18 inch bullitts.

I'd do a matte black C stripe on your car I think. But I like that sorta 'stealth' look rather than really flashy. Matte black/charcoal would be my first choice, with white or silver being my second choice for your car.

Another side stripe I really like on S197s that you don't see much of is the 'reverse hockey stick' stripe or whatever.

Stripes take away from the car IMO... I don't like stripes of any sort... Unless u do some type of flat black/ghost type stuff even then I'm a fan of simple... And ur car sits nice as in stands

There was a precedence in 1970 with the Mustang Grabber which was an appearance package on standard Sportroof Mustangs that repurposed the previous year Boss 302 "C" stripes.

 

If u would like bran new red boss stripes I found some for a great price pm me if u want me to pick em up an mail em to u

 

 

I put these on my Wifes Convert, We did them in like a Hr.

 

I still wish Ford would delete the hockeystick's rear crease...the reverse C stripe is a favorite of mine, but I think without the hockeystick it would flow better.

as far as the 'BOSS' tags, generally not a fan...unless its really got a boss engine under the hood at a minimum. Even Jon Kaase's boss429 only had 'kaase 429' emblems- I think the 'boss429' stickers would be appropriate there for sure

Had the 69 style C-stripes on my 06. Mine didn't say 'Boss' & was long before the new Boss 302 came out.
