Body Colored Slotted Taillight Covers

Looks cool.
But, I'd like to see a little more color between the lights.
I think the frames need to be a little wider to make the tail light appear narrower.
That being said, I still think they look good.

I like it. That's (individual lamps) kind of the look I was going for when I painted my bezels to match the blackout panel. If that's really the look you want, maybe find a bezel w/out the extra box around the reverse lamp.

Here here. The plastic cover could cover more of the lights with some chrome trim around the exposed light. In the photoshop, what would it look like with chrome around the exposed light?

Body color - I like it. As for the Centerfires, I have been through the Valeo plant that makes the Mustang head and tail lights. The process that puts the chrome finish on the reflectors is interesting.
The tooling and presses are huge. My guess is that (unfortunately) the cost for the tooling is way up there for something that would probably be considered "low volume". If anyone did go through with it, I'll bet the retail price would be a bit salty... Unless they come from China.

Doesn't work as well on the S197. The '67-'68 has the chrome trim between the painted sections giving it a richer look. However it still looks better than the black trim. The centerfire tail is to die for!!!!!!

Could repro '67 tail lights be adapted to the S197 with some kind of custom bucket or are they too small to look right on the back of an S197? On second thought, maybe '69s would work better, since they aren't as concave.

I'm kinda partial to the 'black on blue' thing- but personally think just the little separation lines need to be black, I'm seriously considering tinting my backup lights red(or milling them out and putting in a matching red reflector insert cut out of a set of donor lenses) then adding '69 backup lamps to break up the bumper some more...already blacked the bottom lip, but its still got kinda a big butt.

I like the colored on some cars and the black on others. I did black on mine with a cheap roll of trim from the autoparts store. It was only a few bucks and turned out pretty good for a cheap mod. It's held up for about 18 months and still looks like new.
