BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT In Wet Weather?
Spoke to a guy at a respected Mustang performance tuning outfit here in town yesterday, and asked him about the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT tires. I know a lot of you guys here have those tires on your rides, and I'm wondering how you find the overall performance.
The guy yesterday told me that they have ZERO wet weather traction, and that when he was driving a new Stang with those tires on the car during heavy rain, the whole backend got so squirrely on him that he actually pulled over. He said that the tread pattern lacks any sort of a 'V' channel, and so the tires just don't provide sufficient traction on slippery pavement of any kind.
He also said that they wear FAST due to the sticky compound.
I know they're pricey, too.
Any thoughts or viewpoints on the above? Should these tires be avoided in wet climates?
Thanks in advance for any perspectives...

While it hasn't rained much here lately I haven't too much of a problem when it has rained. I've had minor hydroplaning when the water was deeper and I was going too fast. I am actually impressed with the grip in the wet so far. I can't comment on the wear since I've only had them since March.

Yeah right.
Check these out: Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
Here is SFLA it is veru important to have very good wet traction.
I have to take it easy on turns on rainy days as well.

So which one comes with the 18" tires now?
I have these in the back... 255/45/18 and they are actually prety nice in the rain.. griped better then my Avon tires... although once I did have major hydroplaning!!!.. but oh well.. they do look bad a$$!!!

I would have to guess it was maybe a 1/4"-1/2" deep running across the freeway from a heavy downpour. I hit it going about 70mph. There were about 2 or 3 of these "rivers" across the freeway within a 1/4 mile and each was about 10-15ft from front to back. The hydroplaning was only on the first section as slowed to about 60mph for the others. To be clear though, the car didn't move around or anything and tracked straight.

The KDWS is what comes stock on the 18" wheels from the factory. It's what I have now, I've had no issues in wet weather driving, but I take it easy anyway as a precaution.
I will get the KDW NT's eventually, once the KDWS's are worn down . BTW, in case it wasn't obvious - the "W" stands for "Wet" the "S" stands for "Snow". I can easily go to with the KDW-NT's year round - it never snows here!

I have had no problems with mine in the rain. They actually provide very good traction in the wet. Anyone that has ever been to Columbus, OH knows we get our share of rain to test them out it too
.
I can't really comment on how quickly they wear either. I have put about 3,000 miles (and three trips to the drag strip) on them with no noticable wear.
I will say they leave something to be desired on the drag strip but they aren't really made for hooking up at the track.
