Question Best place to get GT500 interior pieces.

Looking to change out my dove interior pieces for the black GT500 interior pieces. Its mostly a standard black interior with some specialty pieces -

1. Dash
2. Steering Wheel
3. Hand Brake
4. Kick panels
5. Seat Emblems

Anyone know of a good place to start.

Here is my list.

1. Trade interiors with someone.
2. Junkyard
3. Steve at SVT Performance

4. Kevin Casey at Clevenger Ford in CA.

The leather hand brake is easy to get. www.partscheap.com has it for under 100 bucks.

I've heard the dash is really expesive and the steering wheel is like $350. The shifter boot is cheap, not sure about the console cover. The emblems on the seats aren't really something you can add, they are actually in the seat. Contrary to popular belief the GT500 seats are actually different from the GT seats so just buying the seat covers won't work, you'd have to buy the entire seats. Good luck with it though.

Anything you find on the dash, let me know.
I would like to replace mine as well but I cannot find anything on it. I thought about covering it myself with Alcann....that fake suede stuff.....

Cheap, or inexpensive? There's a huge difference

What is the difference? Other than the Cobra on the head rest.

The Cobra isn't on the headrest it's on the seatback. Also the bolsters are bigger than the GT.

I know there is a guy selling the steering wheel and shifter boot on ebay for $400.

Shifter boot is inexpensive and a more quality one could probably be had cheaper.

Question Don't see a difference between Mustang seats and GT500 ones ...

Looks the same as mine except the cobra / and color inserts.

The dash cannot easily be replaced as you have to buy the entire passenger side airbag assembly, you cannot buy just the passenger airbag trim pieces, they are connected to the whole airbag unit. I just looked up such a conversion for a customer and the airbag was around $560.00.

We do offer the steering wheel, hand brake, and SVT door sills, all at discounted prices. Take a look at -http://www.partscheap.com/mustangaccessories05.htm

The seats are different than the standard Mustang as they have different framing and padding to provide more bolster on the sides. But you would need to find a wrecked GT500 to get those seats, as you cannot buy whole seats new.

I would do an inspired interior.
  • Purchase a GT500 dash top
  • Either dye or purchase a used black dash from a GT or V6
  • Get the blue leather and make your own seat cover or go with Katzkin.
  • get the leather armrest top and brake handle
  • get the Bullitt steering wheel.
  • Keep your existing airbag and matching panels, vents, and inst cluster or purchase a shelby cluster (used ones are pretty inexp.)
  • See if Miami corp offers the diamond pattern material for the door panels in blue otherwise have katzkin recover standard ones with the same leather from the seats above

What if you just want the leather top. I don't want the trim pieces...

The leather padded dash that comes with the interior comfort package can't be purchased as a separate piece either. You would have to replace the entire dash piece, the mustang does not have a single "dash pad" piece, the entire dash frame is all one piece, i wanted to get the leather padded piece for my dash as well but its not really a practical mod.
