Stock GTs have two guide holes in the fenders.
V6s never had fender badges, so no holes.
The rear emblem has two guide holes (for either the GT or the V6).
Holes? Holes?
We don't need no stinking holes!

Im sorry, not trying to be rude.

But what did you think you were doing by putting GT badges on a V6 to begin with, you were telling everyone your car was a GT which it was not.

Im glad you had a change of mind. Rebadging a car is always a lie.

Hi Robert,
Well, my previous Mustang was a Supercharged, lowered, geared-down, etc. 1988 Red GT. I now have a teenage driver, and the insurance would be too expensive with "mini-me" driving. I decided that I would try to remake the good things of my GT in a V6 Platform, which would be far cheaper to insure. So far, so good. I saw the badge kit for sale at 50 Resto web site and thought "why not". As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I really didn't think much about the implications of what I was doing.
That is the good thing about forums like this one. You get various opinions about modifications, how to, etc., and you learn from others as I have.
Brian.

Good decision. I have a V6 'vert which I've installed the full GT bumpers/grille/rockers set on (Because I wanted the driving lights, was going to be adding dual exhaust, and there are more body mod choices for the GT bumpers), but the last thing I would ever consider applying is GT badging. I'd be letting myself in for some (generally deserved imho) abuse, and besides which I'm proud of that lil' V6, so why be a poser?

I'm looking for some nice V6 or 4.0 badges, for the fenders, but so far haven't seen ones that hit me just right.

After lowering my Mustang with the Pro-Kit, I decided that I liked the look so much, why not slam the Bloodhound too? So, we had her dropped over 14â€; maybe a little radical, but definitely distinctive. Also, I had these left-over GT emblems, and a fresh roll of duct tape, and so I figured “why notâ€. I think she looks pretty authentic now. Our dog is the envy of every flying poodle in the neighborhood.

I have tribar Pony badges on my V6, They come as part of the "Pony Package." I wouldn't want to imagine my baby without them. I love having all them ponies on the car, and no Ford symbols. It seem as though Ford did some market research on the topic and decided that the Mustang was so unmistakenly identified as a Ford product that they didn't need any Ford badging on the 05/06 models.

Yep, and for the most part, no mustang on them...sans the graphic kit on the lower rocker panel. Ford figured after 40 years, the mustang is unmistakable.

As for the GT badges, your call. I pout the 67 Shelby GT350 badges on them. I have seen others put the 68 GT emblem on theirs as well.

I like your wing....makes it stand out. did not notice did you do any tuning??

I have chosen to not do any specific performance tuning, including keeping the stock gear ratio. I am limiting my modifications to handling items only (see my autosignature below for my list). The dual exhaust might add a few horsepower, and I run premium fuel which I think enables the engine to run more smoothly in the lower RPM band (say about 1,500 to 2,000 RPM). I think the V6s have a pre-knock grumble at the lower speeds when running regular fuel.
I was going to get a tuner as I changed my gear ratio to 3.73:1, but after driving the car for 2,400 miles, I really do like the way the engine sounds between 60 mph and 70 mph with the stock 3.31:1 ratio. Also, 3rd gear has enough power to safely pass, so since I don’t need to program the computer for the new ratio, I’ll hold off on the tuner.
On Monday, I’m having a Detroit TrueTrac installed; again for better handling and also for unexpected snow/ice.
Here is that thread for the TrueTrac:
