Autotrimdesign Shelby Stripes - anybody got em?

Hi everybody!

After successfully removing my Ford rocker stripes last weekend, I'm now toying with the idea of getting my car "shelby"-striped. While surfing around, I found autotrimdesign, who offer pre-cut stripes for both the V6 and GT. Has anyone installed them on their car? Experiences?

http://www.autotrimdesign.net/detail...category=25149

Thanks for any input,
Ben.

I had precut but from another company. I had them put on by a professional and they came out great!

Cool, I think I'm gonna order them next week... Wouldn't I also be able to have them installed at my Ford dealership, or will that just be too expensive? How much did it cost you to have them put on professionally?

I would find out from some folks who would know, who owns the best body shop in town and go there. This is the look of your car, not an tune up! Good Luck and post pics when done!!

I bought a set from them a year ago. They still look good. But were a PITA to put on. Make sure you use plenty of water and take your time.

Hm, just got a quote from a local Ford Dealer for stripe installation... They only install their own stripes (9-11") and seem to have some experience (they helped build 3D Carbon's Boy Racer show car), but $1200 - $1500??? Might have to consider doing it myself... For that kinda money I can buy 6 sets from autotrimdesign... Which I just might, in case I mess up the first five...

They want to paint them on? I had my vinyl ones taken off and the painted on with a touch of pearl in them to set them off under lights for that kind of money. They are crazy! I had my vinyl's put on for 300 bucks.

Seems a bit expensive as is for vinyl stripes. Personally I'm going with Baltimore Street Mods for mine.

Yes, the $ 1200 - 1500 they're asking for are for vinyl stripes... I guess I have to keep looking around for a good body shop... I definitely do not want them painted on. I was going to a Ford dealership, because I remembered that my BMW dealer in Germany put on those "Bonnet Stripes" for 50 bucks...

Hey,

I happen to be new to the site, and saw your post about you removing your rocker stripes from your V6. I'm in a similar dilemma, as I have had my car for almost 1 year now, and I am beginning to mod my car within the next few weeks with the GT Bumpers and Rockers, and I wish to get rid of my side stripe. My question to you is how long have you had your stripe on your car, and when you removed it was there an noticible difference in your paint that was under the stripe. Reason being for me asking is I'm terribly worried about removing the stripe thats been through rain, shine, and snow, and having the paint look different. Please, any kind of info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Ryan

I also wish to go with shelby stripes in the near future, however I'm looking at painted stripes.

Hi Ryan,
well, I bought my car as a pre-owned, it's from January 2005 and had the stripes on until now. After removing them, there was still some residue from the glue, but that will come off next time I'll wax it. There is no noticeable difference on the paint, since they were only on for little over a year.
However, I would recommend to somehow heat them a little bit, I had the car sit in the sun for about 30 minutes before I peeled them off. Still a pain, but that way you can remove larger pieces...

Ben.

White on Torch Red

I have a Torch red vert GT. I put 2- 8" inch white stripes with 1/4" inch border stripes around the 8" inchers from the bottom of the front bumper all the way back to the bottom of the rear bumper. It stands out from the crowd and everyone who see's it likes them.

Cool

Woo-Hoo, I finally ordered them today after meeting with West Coast Customs... I couldn't believe it, but they will put them on for $ 250! I will make an appointment as soon as the stripes are here...

Attached a little "before" picture...

Greetings from SoCal,
Ben.

Okay, stripes are here, look pretty good, but I sure hope they look better on my car than they do lying on the floor...

Now I have to wait until Saturday to get them installed....

Is it Saturday yet?
