ATTENTION Aftermarket Hood Owners

I just got Project Source Horse back from SVP Unlimited, where Paul and Jason installed WMS's Stealth Hood Pins. If your hood shakes above 60 mph like mine did and you think this could be you at any moment, you HAVE to get these! There is NO SHAKE whatsoever, and you don't have to hack up your hood! This is one of my favorite modifications to my car. MUST HAVE!

Very nice. I saw that on a car at the Shelby Show last week and loved the clean look of it. Could also function as a hood locking syste so people cant easily pry the hood open and kill battery. Probably get one for one of my other hoods.

Good stuff. W/ my aftermarket hood, I spent quite a bit of time adjusting the hood bumpers to get everything aligned and flush. Are these hidden pins adjustable?

What do they do to hood fitment? It looks like a big piece of aluminum to stick under the hood to not affect the fit and finish. How much did you spend or did WMS give 'em to ya?

Looks like they replace the rubber hood bumpers of about equal size.

These have been out for a while and seem like a great design. But aside from eliminating the hood shake, I wonder how strong they really are considering the latch hooks are attached to the hood with 4 rather small screws... especially when using them on a fiberglass hood. Just something to consider.

do you have to remove the radiator extension covers if you have them in order for the stealth hood pins to fit?

A nice product, but they really should offer them anodized black as well.

I just installed them on my hood last week. Fit great, the directions leave some room for improvement, but everything else was sweet.

I had a problem getting the pins to lock. But they are great now!!!

Agreed. I'd rather see one large screw molded into the back center (and have the 'pin' attach to the hood with a deep well socket) than just the four little screws.

You can not use your hood prop, so add on another $100 for pistons. I got the set of pins and hood pistons for $300 from wms.

Takes a while to get the pins adjusted, but works great.

My cdc hood supports don't hold up my hood when they are cold, go figure.

The pins on the hood are held in by 4 sheetmetal screws and double sided tape (just to line up). The base is held in by 3 screws.

I will post some pics of mine tomorrow. make sure you pre drill all the holes.

I just need to make Radiator extensions now since these are in the way.

I like these but I am concerned with the mounting into a fiberglass hood. I wonder how strong there would be? Anyone have them on a fiberglass hood?

ever had a hood latch cable break? usually you can get to them from the front, but as it looks like these lock fully closed, if a cable end ever broke you would need to destroy the hood to open it...and as already mentioned, a few sheetmetal screws into glass would worry me- rivet nuts might help, but still, in 'glass dont think I'd count on them to hold the hood on.

all that being said, gotta say its a neat idea- three point locking instead of one(plus still the OEM backup catch hook). I kinda like the hood pin look, perhaps a set of thru the hood pins could be an option too- maybe with a stainless bolt that could be removed in case of a cable ever breaking+ the extra strength of thru the hood attachment...even I couldnt nit-pick that one much

so to WMS- could optional 'thru pins' that are still externally detachable be viable?
also suggest WMS offer a new cowl stainless trim piece to match/fit these- neat little product for sure.
