Anyone tried the bra for front end yet from Ford?
I was wondering with bug season here in the midwest if anyone has tried the bra that is in the Mustang accesories catalog? I've never used one before and didn't know if it would cause scratching of the paint or not. Any suggestions?

I have a road trip coming up and am considering getting the Ford bra.
How does the bra attach to the car? Are there any velcro strips that need to be affixed to paint to hold it down? How easily can it be removed?

The best front-end covers are made by Colgan. They fit great and do the job (I have one for each of my toys). However, I did have a problem with my '05 GT bra. I have sent it back to Colgan for inspection but haven't heard back from them yet. Their website address is www.colgancustom.com. HTH
They sell the Colgan bras at www.autoanything.com

Thanks for the Colgan link (and thanks to Lynell for the AutoAnything link which had installation instructions). I'd prefer not to apply adhesive to the vehicle to keep the bra attached.
Was the problem you had a design issue, or just a problem with the unit you received?

Paul, not really sure...need to give them a call this week, though. Apparently, the main piece that covers the bumper shifted position. I couldn't tell whether the tabs that slip under the grill & headlites pulled out or if the elastic mounted hooks that attach at the bottom of the bumper came loose. Either way, the hooks and elastic bands were gone by the time I discovered the problem. Happily, there was no damage to the paint. I'll post if I get any info from Colgan.
The Ford bra attaches with hooks and two snaps. The snaps you have to install in your front inner fender well using two supplied screws. The rest is just hooked into existing holes underhood. It is a serious pain to install though... I wrestled with mine for about 15 minutes before throwing it back in the truck... I just wanted it on for a couple of pics but decided that it was such a ritual that I'd wait to put it on until I needed to.
In lieu of the bra, think about getting the 3M 'clear bra' installed. Expensive (at least here) - about $475.00. No dirt can get under it.
Bugs and other crap come right off. For a few extra dollars, you can get the lights covered as well.

The LeBra bra may not cost as much (69.95), but it fits pretty well. It doesn't require any modifications to the car or adhesive, but it did take about 30 minutes to get on and situated right.
My only complaint with it is the pieces that cover the pillars between the headlights and grill fit a little loose ( may have mine stitched to snug it up a little ).

Sorry. I am returning it and ordering a Colgan piece. After 1 week of use the stitching is coming apart where the straps go under the hood and it has a couple of other issues. Total of 20 miles of around town driving.

The old fashioned bra just won't cut it. Save (up) and go for a 3M clear bra. My last 6 cars have had those and it's great stuff. Expensive - yes, but no damage to the paint or trapped dirt as in the old styled bra.
I just received a Colgan yesterday but won't have a chance to put it on until the weekend. I'll report back on it.
I considered the clear bras, but I really just need this for a road trip. My daily driving is almost all non-freeway, low speed surface streets so I'm not too concerned about rock chips.
