While applying polish (Z5 and Z2) to my 1 month old mustang this past weekend, my microfiber towels constantly grabbed and lifted the bodyside tape (and even broke off one small part). So, it stands to reason that over time, with frequent detailing sessions, the tape will probably fall apart and look like crap. Thus, I'm seriously considering removing the tape now, before it leaves an image and I'm stuck with having to replace it when it does finally fall apart. Has anyone done this yet?? If so, what was the process used? Thanks!

I have removed stripes on other cars with a hairdryer.

Heat the tape up with the hand held hairdryer and slowly peel away the stripe. Then polish and wax the area where the tape was.

hmmm... Any thoughts on how long I could leave the tape on before any type of image would be left on the paint... It's garage kept and has UV protection from the Zaino...

If you plan on removing the tape - do it soon.
Dont wait. On my truck I did it after 8 yrs - left a dark stripe from the unfaded paint under the stripe.
