Anyone with Painted GT Lower Grill

Did the exact thing you are thinking about. Bought a lower grill online so I could keep the stock grill. Took out all the honeycomb to open up the grill more. Sanded and primed and painted with factory matched paint. Sanded again and clear coated 4 times. The stock grill pops out ,but be careful not to break off the tabs. New painted lower grilled just snapped into place. I think it gives it a more aggressive look. Looking to do the same to the upper grill soon.

I got another idea. Simply remove your Lower Grille come June and get some GT/CS Grille Inserts. They will simply plug the Outer Grille Area leaving your already painted bumper exposed. part# 17e810

I'm using the Metra amplified windshield mounted antenna. It gives better reception then the stock antenna. You can get them from Crutchfield for about $20.
I used a knurled **** screw in the antenna hole after I had it removed until I got it filled and painted. The body shop did an excellent job, you can't tell there was an antenna there at all, and the color match was perfect.
