Anyone know where to find raised white letter tires?

I am going to be due for some new tires at the end of the season. I have been on the hunt for some raised whitewall tires but have not been able to find any that would fit an 18" rim. Specifically 285/40 and 255/45 tires. Has anyone ever come across some around these sizes?

Only ones that come to mind are BFG Radial T/A which of course don't come in anything larger than a 16" wheel size. Maybe there are some all-season tires out there with RWL? Worse case is that you could buy some Duplicolor Hot Tires paint and hand paint the letters white.

I was looking at those dupli-color sticks but all of the reviews I read were pretty bad.

Whitewall or white letter? I assum you mean letter, as in the title. I looked around forever, but could never find any on our sizes. They have the Nitto Redlines, but has to be the right car and color to look good. And I've seen the color pens and the look great when new, but quickly fades and has to be touched up quite often.

Because it's a retro styled muscle car, and RWL tires fit the theme if the owner of the vehicle chooses that he wants them on his car.

T/A's are awsome, ran them for years, too bad not in larger sizes.

Here is a thread by a member who seemed to thoroughly research the issue and came up with some durable white paint developed by a guy from Iceland.

I had found these pics a while back researching the same idea. Although I have given up on the dream, doesn't mean you should! At least they'll give you a little better real-life idea of how they may look.

Tried the paint pens right after I got mine. Liked the look, it only held up 2 weeks

Ya, Raised white letter is what I am looking for. Sometimes what my brain thinks my fingers do not type.

As some have already said, because I like them. I had them on my 77 Mustang II and liked the look then and still do. I have seen a few 05's that had them and liked the look as well. I think Raised White Letter tires would look good on my car since my car is blue and has white stripes.

That does look good but I can't see myself wanting to repaint them every 2 weeks.

They did but notice they weren't white. White letters might have looked a little too bold.

I think they were supposed to be white but in order to give the car a "racey" look they left them dirty. They did that to the "Power Trilogy" (Cobra Concept, Mustang, Ford GT) that year.

I'm looking out the window of my hotel room and there's a last gen. Camaro with Goodyear Eagle #1 Nascar tires on 17" rims. Looks like goodyear makes some "Raised white letter tires".
