I'm sure this subject has been covered before...but I doubt it has like this...

Wouldn't it be possible to weld the part that goes down between the taillights to the rest of the rear? (this would be done by a professional mind you)...and then you'd have to find where to get the taillights from...it'd take some aggresive haggling with Ford to get a pair of those from them. Then cut that part out of the part that used to come down between the taillights to fit the new taillights in, wire them up, cover them. Then you would have a top part that could still open... Move the latch that the keyhole in the emblem opens the trunk lid and you would have a trunk that would still be functional. How much do you think this would cost? $3-5k? heck, targas for SN95's are about that much and have structual support to worry about. Here's an attached pic on a quick MS Paint job (i'm not going for the best MS Paint photoshop person in the world mind you )

Heck..you could even make the inside back look like it...take the rear seats out using the MMR rear seat-delete kit and it would look similar.

(removed image tags, it has to open in paint I guess)

After looking at the concept pic...I've definitely made up my mind to ditch the spoiler.

Sure it's possible, but it'd take some really talented fabricrators, and a ton of cash.
The result would be so awesome though

Would not be worth it to do that. Wait another 6-12 months, and there may be a company selling a concept-style body kit for a tenth of what making one would cost.
