Antenna Mount Cap

Is there someone out there who sells/ makes a cap for the antenna like the one from the factory (about 2 inches stainless peice), only shorter (i.e. almost flush to the antenna nozzle itself)? I have the factory peice, and thought about cutting it and rolling out to make it so that it would be flush mount. I have no interest in the shorty antenna or terrestial radio since the car comes with the i-pod jack/ 6 disk changer.

I think I know what your talking about. They are called, radio antenna fender delete plate. The one I found are for the edge but they looks like they would match up to S197, maybe some one can confirm that the shape is the same?
I was thinking of puchasing them , but haven't really gotten around to it.

scroll to the bottom under 2000 Cobra "R"

and this place has them to
look in the middle of the page.

I chose to shave the antenna off. It wasn't too expensive. I paid $175 to have the hole welded shut and ground smooth and painted. While he was at it, he also painted the mirrors and the CDC spoiler which I had removed and prepped.

Is there a way to shave off the antenna, yet still get reception? Route a wire through the A-pillar or something?

I love the shaved look, but not sure I want to get rid of all reception (in case I sell it in the future).

I bought the "antenna delete" from UPR. Comes in a polished billet finish. Painted it black and then bought an antenna like the one in Odiaz's write-up.

UPR antenna delete painted black (get yours here: http://www.uprproducts.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=596 )

Metra windshield antenna

You can't even see the antenna from outside or inside the car. Unless of course your 4" tall.

BTW-Install looks complicated but believe me it's really easy and this is the first car I've ever worked on. If it's still seems to complicated places like circuit city and best buy will do the install for about $20-40.
