Another version of modified CDC Shaker

I used a Dremel with a plastic cutting wheel to make my cuts, and went outside the lip and cut from the bottom. You'll need to trim some of the shroud away as you cut.

Then I used chrome door edge molding, but there are plenty of options. The Cobra Jet emblems were from the Paddock. I could care less what anyone thinks about a Cobra Jet emblem on my Shaker. The car makes 470 whp, so it's doing the name proud. Shame on Ford for not giving this motor a name.

Anyway - I will have custom tubing dome to get it to flow right into the Vortech.

Looks good make sure to post pics once it's installed. The chrome trim looks good with the Cobra Jet emblem.

Looks great! Let's see some 'on car' shots.

I'd like to see a cleanly installed Shaker sitting on top of a twin screw (Kenne Bell to be specific ).

Looks good! I used to have a 351 Cobra Jet and it never made that power. In fact, it never made 300 HP! Can't wait to see the install pics.

I'm working on it. I had a day set aside to do it last week, but my friend who was tapped to help got a load of free sod, and he needed my help.

I was laying sod until 10:00 at night - he owes me big!

I am shooting for early this week, and will post pictures right away.

Stay tuned!!

Now that's how a Shaker should look - very nice work there. I've always thought the out-of-the-box Shaker kit looked tacky and covered too much under the hood. Great job on making it look like it should

Yes because you still use the two throttle body bolts to hold the front and the ball and stud for the rear. Hear's some pics for reference.

Front mounting bracket.

Rear ball/stud.

cool!! thanx So, whats the process to do this? Do you think I'd be able to just purchase the scoop w/o the shroud from cdc? I love that look and I feel its a waste to throw out all that plastic that supposedly is worth 300 bux??

You just take a dremel to the shroud. No you have to buy the entire setup because even with everything modified you still have to have part of the shroud for it to mount to your engine bay.The scoop alone would do you no good unless you were planning to just glue on to the top of your hood.

The shroud is just trimmed down, you'll still have to buy the complete kit. Part of the shroud is where the front bracket & rear mounting ball is attached.
CDC doesn't sell the kits without the shroud.
It's easy to do, a Dremel & time are all you'll need.
