Just a heads up. I found the Astra Hammond rear louvers for $241 and NO shipping. Thats offically 1/2 what the Visus are goin' for.

I hear they are supposed to hit the street in about 3 weeks. I called the local distributor (a toyota dealership ironically enough.) and they confirmed that they are aluminum and not plastic. A bit vague on how they mount, but they are checkin' into that for me.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share. At this price it looks like I can get the 1/4 window louvers a bit sooner! (i'll let yall know as I know more)

I will be looking for you post for sure. We need a photo or eye ball report. I do not care for the top louver on the Visus set. Just looks too high.

I figured I'd post an update. Even if that update is to say that there is no update.

the guy at the local distributor said he'd call me when he had more info. So after 3 weeks I decided to call them (the street date is supposed to be "late may"). Turns out he "no longer works" there. So the guy I talked to took my info and said hed have the new guy who is handling that area give me a call. Well, two days later I called them back. THe new guy almost sounded offended that I was asking about a part for a Ford (remeber its a toyota dealer). He said he'd call me back in a little bit. I still havent heard from him.

So right now I have emails out to the two other distribution points to try ot get some info. Hopefully I'll know something this week... or else I'll spend my money on a different mod.

cheaper because they are plastic, not aluminum. Not sure how well they will hold up over time. I have a feeling they will warp from the intense heat from the sun.

Hey all, I work next to a customizer, and he had yet ANOTHER Mustang over there. He works on a ton of them, and for Ford dealers too. Anyway, I stopped to talk to him while on a test drive, and he tells me to come in a look at it.

It's a silver GT, with side louvers I've never seen before . . . they have more louvers than 3dCarbons, and are inclosed. They remind me more of a '68 than anything else. He said he can put vinyl on them to give them an open look like the 3dCarbon's. So, I'm going to have him put those on for me when he blacks-out the rear panel.

But the biggest thing, it had the rear window louvers you guys are talking about. The slots start out small, and get bigger toward the bottom. From the outside they look like they would block your vision, but inside, you can see a lot.

Only problem . . . they look like CRAP!!! They look like they where casted in sand, then just painted. HORRIBLE EDGES! I could not believe this guy would put such a low quality piece on. I can't believe the customer would like it. They where complete JUNK!

yeah, that link is to the plastic ones (p/n 1467). However, they are also in the process of developing an aluminum set (p/n 10612). They were supposed to be out already - but we all know how that goes. I emailed driverfx.com and they gave me the number for the mfg. (888-945-5725). I called them today and they said it will most likely be yet another 3-4 weeks before they are ready. I forgot to ask if they have a picture available so we know if its worth the wait or not.

DON'T go plastic. Give MRT a call (248) 960-8813. $487.38 to my door in 2 days! 30 minutes to install and they look awesome! Just like the old style ones. They are one piece aluminum and attach to the windows with this super sticky tape, I know, I was skeptical but man do they stick and they are hinged for easy cleaning. These are the same ones that CDC has on back order, MRT makes them for CDC. Trust me, they will out last the plastic ones and they look cool as heck! Check out my pictures. While I'm at it, does anyone know how to put the link to "my albums" in the signature?

Actually, Visus makes them for MRT. I have them on my car, and yeah, they are sweet. The Astra Hammond ones look like crap, IMO.

I didn't! darn! I would like to have it too. I even ordered a Saleen sticker yesterday because I didn't get one with my shifter and I'm getting ready to fill my 1/4 windows with stickers.

I'm sure MRT will send you one. Send me your address and I'll send you mine if MRT doesn't have any more. I have no need for it, it's just a little black sticker, nothing earth shattering.

I also have the MRT rear window louver. Gets alot of looks at the car shows. The only issue I had with mine is the left upper corner that holds the louver down started to lift so I went to a local auto shop and picked up some epoxy to fix it.
here are some pics. Also the view from inside the car is allmost unchanged IMO. I have had no issues seeing out with these.
