American Muscle Bullit Wheel Finish and Seal Failures

Just thought I should warn everyone: I've had the AmericanMuscle.com antharcite bullets 18x10 on my car just under a year [rear] and the clear coat is already coming off the deep dish area. Their warranty on the finish is 90 days, which is in writing and I've called as well.

And I live in SoCal, so neither the weather nor road conditions have anything to do with it... No abrasive cleaners ever.

Both fronts and rears were very tough to mount the tires on.

Also, the front wheels, which are newer than the rears, and are 18x9, have leaked at the bead twice. I'd replaced the fronts wheels with brand new, and the tire shop had a heck of a time getting my Pirelli P Zero Neros to seat on them both times, and I've had to go back with the bead leaking again [not from hitting any curbs either].

I guess you really do get what you pay for: $164 ea. They're made in China, and look good out of the box [except for one I received damaged in shipping]. Too bad they don't last.

That happened to AR dd Bullitts. Its was a paint defect and were warrantied .After the third wheel failed they gave me a refund on the wheels.I really wish they wouldn't clear coat wheels.
I think the failure was due to high pressure at the car wash.I really never sprayed directly at the wheels either.

Same thing happened on the DD I had on my '04. Not sure I'd ever go with those wheels again from what I experienced.

Yeah, you've had them about as long as me. Good luck... I was having the car washed and the guy said "I have someone who can fix these for $100". By the time I pull and reinstall the tires and have them balanced I'll be out at least that much again...

PS I have two "spare" 18x9s from when the tire installer scratched them on the face of the wheel the first time [they paid to replace them].
