Amber Lights?

Well guys I really want to get some black turn signal housings and some clear side markers and tint them up, but one thing keeps bugging me. Do the bulbs used have to be amber? I think amber bulbs are fugly and to me it somewhat defeats the purpose of the black or clear housings. Can I just use a clear bulb?

Also whats the best tint to use for these lights? I've tried using some standard tint from auto zone but it keeps coming off!

Thanks for the help guys!

You may wanna search stealth bulbs. I believe that there are some bulbs that look clear, but light up amber. I think b/c of DOT stuff, you have to have them amber.

yea different states have different requirements for lights

you may have to have amber up front for turns....

with all that stuff blacked out you may get a ticket too...

just be careful

Here's my solution:

Silvania silverstars purple. I tried chrome stealth bulbs from ebay but their illumination level was half as good as from the stock ones...to low.

They are completely white when not lit.

This place sells the stealth bulbs as a package with the fron turn signal housing. http://www.stangmods.com/Mustang-Cle...ge-p/00731.htm They also sell just the bulbs if thats what you are looking for.

Where do they sell front turn signals that are smoked? I can only find clear ones. Also, do they sell the rear sidemarkers smoked, or do they just come in clear and I will have to tint them myself?

Get them here from Matt @ Stangmods.

If the car looks familiar it is mine.

Here is the link for the rear side marker overlays.

Tell Matt that Bill from College Park sent you.

Ahh ok. Would be great if you could post a video or photos. I was really disappointed from the light intensity of the stealh bulbs.

yes, I agree the intensity of the stealth bulbs are way too low. Has anyone tried led's for the main turn signals? I have some in the second hole and they are hell a bright. I'm concern that the resistance across the led may not be enough to make them blink? However, they are clear when they are off!

P.S. I bought the stealth bulbs off of ebay. They were way cheaper then retail and I got 4 of them

Yeah me too. $1,80 for crappy stealths.

I have some in the second hole and they are hell a bright.
Great!!! I need some of these real whites since my parking lights are yellowish and this looks odd with HID:

Could you please post a photo to see if they might match my HIDs?

I don't remember the name of them. I bought them from Autozone. Paid like 10 dollars for them, but I didn't want to wait. I think they are bulb type 194 ???? They have 4 individual leds on the chip

I've been looking on ebay to buy the led's for the 3157's but have been afraid to do so because I'm not sure they will work.
