Aluminum lip for Chin Spoiler

A few years back, or maybe last year, I really can't recall... there was a thread posted, showing a billet aluminum piece being fabbed up for install on the underside of a chin spoiler. Can't recall if it was for a GT500, CDC chinnie or some other, but it was a nice piece, and most certainly added a bit of protection from the scraping and banging of the lower chin.

ANYONE remeber this, or have knowledge of the person who was making them??

Doing a re-paint on my WVB 05 GT 'Vert due to a minor accident last fall. Son works in a great shop, and he has a few ideas he wants to tryout on the car...a blank canvas so to speak...

Any help is appreciated...

Many thanks.

Delz05, I remember it and actually saved a picture of it on my laptop. It was on the underside of a CDC chin spoiler. Unfortunately, I can't recall the member here that did it. When I get home, I'll double check, as IIRC, I sent a PM to them about it, but never heard back...but that was also awhile ago, so I'm not 100% sure. I debated trying to fab one out of aluminum, but lately have been leaning towards fabbing a splitter instead.

I know the one you're talking about. I made my own based on that and all it did was catch the ground and pull the spoiler under the car. I got horrible cracks in the paint from it. When I got a new pre-painted chin (was cheaper than repainting the old one) I ditched the plate.
You can see how it ground down the front of the plate. Maybe the other guy had a better setup, but mine did more harm that good.

The one that was made a few years ago was about an eighth of an inch thick and ran the full lip of the chin spoiler. If anyone can post up pics...

UMich97... any info appreciated...

Thanks.

OK, found the pics. If anyone recognizes this as their car, that'd be great, as then we'll get the skinny from the owner.

I'm willing to bet the Alloy car has the 18" factory polished wheels, so judging from the pics I'm going to say 18's
