In Accident now need advice ASAP!

So this afternoon my 2 month old 2007 mustang GT got in a severe accident when a guy changed lanes without looking and ran me off the road. The insurance is covering everything but to say the least I'm devastated. The good news is though that I am going to do some of my mods I was already planning on them. Basically I need you guy's help by tommorrow to figure out the specifics.

First I'm getting the shelby cs6/gth hood. Basically I need to know what I need part wise for this hood other then the hood itself. Do I need new hood lifts? Or any other parts?

Second I'm getting new wheels the wheels I am choosing are these:

http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/details.asp?parent=239&wheelid=240&name=Torq-Thrust%20M%20Shelby%20(Black)&style=105MSB&desc=1-piece%20painted%20alloy&section=V

Part No.
Size
Offset
Backside
Bolt Circle
Note

105MS8166B 18x10 45 7 1/4 5x4 1/2
105MS8165B 18x10 24 6 7/16 5x4 1/2

These are the torque thrust shelby vintage wheels in black 18x10. Basically I'm wondering what offset I need. Also I want the widest tires possible and I need to know exactly what this is. I really wanted to atleast get some 305's so let me know what yall think would fit. And also what size I should put on the front if I have 305's on the back.

The last question is what tires. I want a tire that is a good daily driver but sticks to the road well and is somewhat racing enabled. I don't know jack **** about tires so I need lots of help on these.

Thank you guys so much this forums have been my hobby for over a year now and now I need your help to save my ***. Thank you for all of your input and the speedyness as well. Hopefully that's all the questions I've got.

As far as tires, I love my Nitto NT555s. They have great grip, an aggressive look, and relatively low road noise. You can find them for around $170 a tire.

i got the Shelby CS6 hood, and used it with the stock prop for a month, then put the RedLine quicklift elite struts..
Furthermore, if you wanna fit the Shelby CS6 hood pins where they're supposed to go, you could either get a Shelby CS6 radiator cover from Shelby, or cut your own cover to clear the pins.. no biggy.

finally, regarding the tires.. i'm running on the SVT GT500 18x9.5" rims, with Michellin Pilot Sport A/S 255/45ZR18 up front, and 285/40ZR18 out back.
i wouldn't go wider than 255 or 265 MAX up front.

i have perfect grip on 2,3,4,5 gears with 470rwtq (i left out 1st gear intentionally )

good luck, and i hope it all works out alright for ya

Ok as for the hood did it work ok with the stock prop? Did you have any problems that made you switch to the redline quick lift struts?

As for the hood pins I think I might go with the radiator cover from shelby just to make this as simple as possible

regarding the tires, I think 255 is what I will definately go but I don't understand what the middle number is on the tire size and how i know what to go with. Also I think I'm going to go 305's on the back but I just need to know what my middle number should be.

I'm also wondering what tire I should be doing because it seems everyone does their own thing and they are all different. Is there one tire that everyone can somewhat recommend that is good for lots of miles daily driving but has the grip to race well also?

Thanks for the response GT you have helped a ton already I really appreciate it man.

no problems at all, i'm an impulsive buyer.. saw the props while shopping for something else, and bought me a set

that middle number is the sidewall height, to tire tread width ratio.

for instance, 255/45ZR18 has a 255mm wide tread, fits an 18" rim, and has a sidewall height of 255*45%=114.75mm

the key in selecting sidewall height it to attempt to maintain the overall tire radius, otherwise you will affect the ride comfort (if you go with too low a profile) or mess up your speedo

for instance, my front tires are 255/45ZR18 (114.75mm sidewall height)
my rear tires are 285/40ZR18 ( 285*40%=114mm )
so you see although the rear tires are wider, they are virtually the same radius as the front ones.

you said you're getting 18x10" rims
i'd get 265/40ZR18 up front
305/35ZR18 out back

as for the brand.. well Michelin, Nitto, etc..
it really depends on your budget and your weather

First of all let me say your a freaking savior that is pretty much all I needed to know and you not only explained it you even told me point blank. I love you...

Now back to reality that sounds great on the wheels as to my weather I'm in texas and most of my driving is Austin/San Antonio/Houston so it's pretty much always hot but sometimes (Houston) it's really humid. I was thinking Nitto's for the tires if this works basically because I tend to like their tread patterns (i'm stupid). Hopefully they aren't more expensive though. I think that answered most of my questions so thanks a ton if I have anything else I will let you know.
