So I really like the '69 Boss 302 and I want to turn my 05 WB GT into a look a like. I'm thinking the Graphics Express C-Stripe in black, a tail light black-out and the CDC Classic chin spoiler in black. I want to keep the stock spoiler but I can't decide if I should paint it to match the stripes. What do you think?

That's easy--I've done it in red already. To be "correct" the spoiler should be painted AND the area in between the taillights (which I've done but it's not shown). I had the panel for the rear but too much moisture gets behind it. See my car on the graphic express site at http://2005-mustang.com/z-2005_john_white.htm.

Or paint it. Either way it's a way cool theme...

not sure if this was how all the '69 boss's were but don't you black rear window cover and to black out the top of the truck too?

but yeah, those are sweet cars

GOOD question, regarding the top of the trunk. I have in my collection photos of the trunk LID both painted black and those that are body color. I can't get the experts to agree.

I don't know if the rear window louvers are factory standard or an option. The ones I want seem to be on a permanent backorder right now, so for now I go without.

For that matter, the wheels are important too. Wheel Vintiques makes a beautiful knock off of the Magnum 500 wheel found on the Boss, but the darn things are $450 each!! I just purchased AFS Mach 1 wheels, which look CLOSE, plus they were $600 for all 4.

I always said I was doing a retromod TRIBUTE, not a REPLICA.

www.boss302 seems to be a good resource, if you haven't found it already.

Keep us all updated on your Boss transformation...

I don't have any plans at the moment to change the wheels, I like the factory wheels a lot. I'm not going to do the trunk lid, just a personal preference and as for the louvers, I'm waiting to decide. I'm doing it one piece at a time, so stripes first, then paint (hood, spoiler, trunk panel) then chin spoiler. Speaking of which, does the CDC chin spoiler need to be painted to match the stripes? Also, John can you post a close-up of your hood? Thanks

The trunk lid was painted black as part of the Boss package.

The rear louvers, hood pins, and spoiler were options. I didn't do the trunk lid on mine, but I still might.

I'm iffy about that and the hood pins...BTW, click on my cardomain link to see my Boss tribute.
