E-mail from 3d Carbon:
Thank you for your e-mail.
The “louver” is a solid piece of urethane that will cover the rear quarter window. Our thoughts on this are:
1. Visibility from this window is poor to start.
2. A vented louver will reduce the already poor visibility and catch dirt, water spotting...etc... making cleaning under a vented louver a true challenge.
3. Opting for a “louver” look that covers the window will not make a big difference to the visibility and will be a huge saving for time and trouble with regards to cleaning.
Our “louvers” will include the vinyl black decals for the vented look as well as a black vinyl window covering to apply under the louver covering. We feel that including this vinyl cover is thoughtful to people in the vehicle that would otherwise be looking into the mounting side of raw urethane.
Our louver design was one of the many reasons that Ford honored us with the Best of Show and the Best Design award.
Pre- orders are still being taken now. All Mustang products pre-orders will begin shipping by April 15. Next week, when the first sample pieces are finished, we will send a few pair out for paint quotation. When the samples are returned, we will inspect the paint quality and review the costs. After this, we will be able to offer a pre-painted price.
If we can answer any other questions for you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best Wishes –

This seems like a well made, good fitting product. But, the lack of actual louvers seems like a production cost cutting measure.

MRT Side Louvers
I have seen them, and I do not like them. I researched for a LOOOOOOOng time on this topic.
The best ones around are the "MRT Real Side lovers) they are removable, so you can clean the glass under them. More realistic looking ( like the '68) then the 3D Carbons.
The 3D Carbons bulg out, kindda bubble like. Me dont like.
The MRT's are "real" and they are flat" and "removable"
Allready ordered them. I am on the list!! THANKS TO ADRENALIN!!!

Well I'd say they don't sit in the car properly if they find the 1/4 windows useless. The window on the drivers side is no different than any other car, pointless, but I constantly use the one on the passenger side.

I keep reading people saying these windows are useless - but everytime I look over my right shoulder, I can see out that passenger side quarter window juuuuust fine.....
