Hi,
I have attached my new 3D Carbon Boy Racer Wing to my new Mustang. I think it complements the lines of the car well, and in solid Torch Red is kinda nice. Calculated down force is 24 Lbf at 60 MPH, with a drag of 2.4 Lbf (not including strut drag). For mounted to the trunk lid, I also stacked-in fender washers under the supplied standard washers, to help even out the stress on the sheet metal.
Are we styling now?

If I were worried about downforce I'd just throw a 25# weight in my trunk before I put that thing on.

Yes, that Cobra R look is basically what I wanted. I think this 3D Carbon wing captures that look, while being much more designed to match the contours of the car, which is why I like it so much.

I guess we're all going for different looks... to each his own.

I think of Vin Diesel when I see something like that.

Not my cup of tea, but I hope you enjoy it.

Were you serious about the downforce thing?

Your car is a V6. You've put on GT badging, painted the rocker, you're going to put in a GT grille, and you've added what is attempting to be a Cobra wing.

The V6 is a great car for its class, would outperform most V8's from only a few years ago, and shares the great looks of the GT.

Don't see a reason to attempt to pass it off as something it isn't.

I'm not a big fan of those wings in the first place, but for the look of one done well, see swingle007's car.

The down force thing is just what it the aero calculation yields and is nothing more and nothing less. I am making a look that I want, and it happens to function too, although it obviously isn't a significant factor.

The steeda race wing looks alot more like the Cobra R, to me atleast. I never thought cloning a one year old car was cool. Maybe you like the way it looks but honestly you lose everyone's respect with GT emblems on a V6. Maybe you fool some stupid people but I don't buy for a second and even though it's your car it pisses me off. There's a reason why GT's are badged so, because that's the car that they are. Your car is not a GT, the exhaust note is a dead giveaway and so is the rear bumper. Sad to see one of the first people to rice a mustang is on this site posting.

What I don't get is the GT emblems? That's all bad! Why did you do that? You're a liar.

But really, it seems weird to me that you want that Cobra R look on the "fastback". And even weirder that you are putting GT badges on it.

People are putting Cobra emblems on they're because they are trying to go for the cobra look.

But GT emblems? Doesn't sound right to me.

Take it with a grain of salt! As long as you're happy!

The first rule of these forums reads as follows:

1. Be Nice Refrain from name calling, racist comments, and threats.

Do I really have to state the obvious, that using the term “rice” is both name calling and a racist slur?

Sorry, Brian, but "rice" is not a racial slur. And I'm Asian, BTW.

I don't get why everyone's picking on Brian... Who cares if he puts GT badges on his car? Does that make your or my GT any less special? Heck no. I don't get why people get defensive and insulted when somebody else does something to their car that makes them happy.

Is everything in life really a p***ing contest?
