285/40/ZR18 GT 500 Wheel on Front?

Can 285/40/ZR18 GT 500 Wheels fit on the front without rubbing? Keep in mind I have Koni Sports and FRPP K Springs. I might be going with the Brembo brakes also.

Some of the autocross guys are fitting a 295 tire on an 8.5" wheel up front.

the 8.5" wheel changes the true width of the 295 tire a bit, but it's my feeling that with the proper backspacing you should be able to fit that wheel and tire up front.

I know Roush uses a 10" wheel up front on their cars. I believe with a 265 tire.

If the backspacing isn't spot on you might get some rub at full lock.

I'm half tempted to try a pair of 18x10 FR500's up front to see if they'd work.

I am going with four rear wheels, if there is such a thing as rear wheels, from the GT-500 set on all four, I should be able to rotate them front to rear. Pictures once installed.

I know they use 10" up front with 275 tires as well.

I know when I had 275/40/18's up front and in the back they didn't rub but I really don't recommend it. A tire that big in the front will make the car track the ruts and grooves causing you to fight the road. I have since put 255's up front and 285's out back and no more tracking issues and a nicer looking stance. Good luck!

You shouldn't have any issues.

My calculations on a 10" wheel with a 45mm backspace would mean 9mm less clearance on the strut side and the wheel rim would extend out 29mm towards the edge of the fender.

29mm is slightly over an inch. A quick eyeball on the front fenders would put a 10" wheel just slightly inside of the fender lip.

the 9.5" wheel will fit slightly better, but it proves we've definitely got the room up front. Especially if you stretch a tire onto the wheel like is done at the factory with the 235 tire on an 8.5" wheel, you won't have rub or clearance issues.

Part of it is the tire itself too, in general you are correct but my 255/295 combo was much worse than my current 275's all around, different brand/model/etc.
