I have a 2005 Mineral grey v6. I just bought the 2006 fender ponies to put them on. The guy at my dealer says this is something i can put on the car myself with the adhesive that it comes with. BUT now that i received it, they both have these sticks sticking out the adhesive side suggesting that the car needs to be drilled in order to put these on.

What do i do? Do i just go to a body shop and have it done or should i get it done at the dealer?

Those sticks really caught me offgaurd.

I would measure very carefully, and mount the emblems without the alignment guides (sticks). Cut or sand them off with a dremel or similar.

With the Automotive 3M tape they should hold. Just my opinion, let's see what others think! Clean the area with isopropyl alcohol first to ensure the surface is extra clean.

I think everyone else has been doing what Fastrack said, just cutting off the "sticks" and sticking them on

Yeah, just clip the pins off with a pair of wire clippers or something similar as close as possible to the back surface of the emblem.

Then clean the area (I'd recommend Dawn dishwashing liquid to strip the wax, rinse, then a wipe with isopropyl) position carefully and stick them on.

Another way to remove the alignment pins is with a dremel tool. Just go slowly and methodically when removing the tabs...
