The problem is that a 9.5 is about as wide as you can really make work up front. 10 is that extra half inch that'll cause some problems with interference. Rears will work fine, though.
The GT500 18x9.5 rims, any style, for that body are offest 45mm, and they'll work with 275/45s. Putting a 285/45 might rub up front, but people do use them and get away with it.
Putting the extra .5 inch side to side, and then sucking in the wheel that 3mm, might be all that's needed to ensure the inner wheel/tire won't clear stuff up front. And even then, its getting might close to putting a tire all up into the fender lip on a bump.
I would recommend you get 9.5 or less up front, but if they don't sell these things except in 10" wide, well... Yeah, I'd keep lookin'.
I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear, but that's the deal. Good luck, hope that helps some.

I run Steeda Spyder 20x9.5 with 45mm offset both front and rear on my 2006 GT and also have no clearance issues at all either..
IMHO the extra .5" side to side when comparing a 10 inch wheel over a 9.5" wheel will pretty much offset one another depending once again on what the wheel offset happens to be.. For example, running a 20X10 with 40mm offset would be equivalent to a 9.5" wheel with 45mm offset due to the .5" difference between offsets..
As for the GT500 18X9.5 rims with 45mm offset are concerned.. According to Ford performance parts, they recommend purchasing the FPP steering stop kit 6R3Z-3932-CA, as they claim there may be clearance issues due to the 45mm offset and 9.5" wheel size

yeah, that's me with 20x10's with 40mm offset front and rear.
Still absolutely no fitment issues.
Lots of cars now with 10" wide front wheels.
I also have a set of SVT 18x9.5 wheels that I'll actually be putting back on the car soon (one of my 20's needs a repair).
The 18's have 285/40/18 Goodyear tires on them on the front and 305/40/18 Nitto drag radials on the back.
They fit, but very little clearance with the wide 285 Goodyears on the front, so I tend to use a small spacer on them.
Not really needed, more for peace of mind.
I've driven the car very aggressively with the 18's with no spacers and had no issues.
Here's the clearance I had with no spacers, with the SVT rims and the 285 front tires.
This is the clearance of my 20x10 40mm-offset front wheel with 275/35/20 tire on it:
(the 42mm offset would just bring it closer to the strut by 2mm which is almost 1/8")
They'll fit perfectly.
What size tires are you planning on?
275/40/18's fit perfectly on the 18x9.5 SVT rims, and they'd be slightly stretched on 10" wide rims but not too bad.
