To my understanding the 2005 V6 Mustang wheels were only made for 1 year. So I am wandering if anybody on here thinks it would be a good idea to hang onto them (for a long time) to see how their value goes up/down, or just get rid of them now.

I already have my new wheels...just wandering what everybody though.

They are the 2005 V6 Mustang upgrade wheels (w/ caps)

Its anybodies guess what might happen with them. In my opinion, however, I suspect they aren't gonna significantly increase in value.

i think it's one of those things where most people are replacing them and it will be rare to have an 05 with the original wheels on it - especially the v6. everyone is going bullitts, but i'm going to try and keep my originals.

It depends on which 05 V6 wheel you have. If it is the painted standard wheel, I would keep them. You never know what people will want 25+ years from now. The 05 V6 Bright Machined wheel with spinner is an upgrade on the 06, so those are still being produced and won't be as "collectible".

I still have mine just because I'm used to keeping the original equipment. When I was restoring my '65 everything we upgraded, we kept the original part and I guess its a force of habit.

Plus, there's not really any demand for them so I probably wouldn't get much- I'll hold on to 'em for now. Someday I may put them on another car of mine or something

lol old wheels on a base model sitting in you garage for 25 years??? Nothing is collectible any more. They still make the wheels for 06, by the 10's of thousands. They also make a hub cap/steel wheel for fleet cars. If Ford realized the truth to that they would be much better off making 40,000 shelbys rather then 12,000. All its going to do is get dealers to girl of ill repute out the 3 each that they get instead of selling a bunch of them. In 3 years they'll be worth 25k just like any other cobra.
