I'm planning to do some exterior mods to my black '05 GT in order to end up with a '69 Boss 429 tribute/look-a-like.
Here's a list of what I plan to install on the car, to get the project done:
1. 18" black Bullits (deep dish).
2. hood scoop.
3. hood pins.
4. "M U S T A N G" lettering on trunk lid.
5. chrome taillight bezels.
6. black front grille with chrome frame (and tri-bar pony to replace the OEM running pony).
7. Boss 429 side emblems.
8. ducktail spoiler.
9. running pony on fake fuel cap.
10. black brake calipers.
Can you guys help me with some suggestions on any further mods to be done? I'm especially interested in the side scoops (instead of 1/4 window scoops), but any input is more than welcome!
Here are a few good photos (thanks TMS) of the look I'm going for:

Maybe switch out the Deep Bullitts for some 18" Magnum 500's, and you should be just about set..

P.S.: the bolt circle on the '05 GT wheels is 5x4.5" (5x114 mm), right?

do you mean these? I agree, they are the most appropriate for "the project" ...but I'm not sure they fit, look at the available sizes (and the prices are way above my budget for the moment...):

Is this the kinda side scoops you are talking about? Or do you mean something else?

Your 1/4 window scoops are my favorites and I would buy them any other time, but the 1969 Boss 429 which I'm trying to replicate didn't have any, only side panel scoops.
Well... I'll keep on searching for a solution...

I think you should definitly go for the magnum 500 style wheels, there was a guy here with a legend lime 05 who had them and I think They'd look perfect. I'll see if I can find the thread for you.
how about rear window louvers, not all 429's had them, but I think some did.
Edit: found them magnums on LL 05

Not really, I'm looking for some side panel scoops similar to the ones in the photos, which originally went just under the "hip" above the rear wheels, and that's exactly my problem: the S197 doesn't have the "hips" and no aftermarket manufacturer has made such scoops yet.

Edit: I just realized I liked you to what I think are on paintboy's sick ride - but maybe you didn't notice the side scoops, b/c your reply only addressed the quarter window scoops - the picture in the link shows the side scoops better, but if you look closely at the picture of the two-tone car, you should be able to see them there, too. They are bigger than on the 69 Boss, run along the wheel well part of the fender, but integrate nicely, IMHO, and are evocative of the '69 Boss.

Definately go with the Magnum's on a Boss 429 look a like. Everything else seems to be in order. Great idea!
You have got to post pics when you have the running pony gas cap emblem on. I am very interested in how that turns out.
Which hood scoop do you plan on using?

I decided not to go for a supercharger or turbocharger, Instead, I'm contemplating the idea of a N/A tuning. I've seen a few posts and it seems that BBR are ready with their parts. I'll give it a bit more thought before I rush into anything.
The CDC chin spoiler looks great, I loved it ever since I saw it installed on a few other cars, but the speed bumps on almost every city road over here might kill it in less than a week. Maybe a smaller one?
For the gas cap I have 2 options so far:
1. running pony decal from Bob White
2. vinyl blackout and running pony emblem
I will first try the decal and if it looks alright, I'll keep it. Otherwise, I'd still prefer the emblem.
I chose the Xenon hood scoop and the Razzi 1/4 window louvres. Again, if they don't match the planned look I will change them. Also, I ordered the stainless steel taillight bezels.
Still looking for the "MUSTANG" letters for the trunk lid and the BOSS 429 emblems...
I will post pictures in a couple of days, after installing the hood scoop, louvres and hood pins (I plan to install the hood scoop and louvres tonight, followed by hood pins and painting the calipers black later this week; the pictures will follow very shortly!).

You might be able to find what you are looking for here

But in my opinion, I would skip the "BOSS 429" part. You don't have a 429, why put emblems on it saying that.

You can get the magnum 500'si n any offset, b/s etc. most ppl who have them make them custom to your specs. it takes about 2 weeks to get them made. and about 2500$ for rims.

I received the FRPP hood pins without any installation sheet, of course. No biggie, they look very easy to install. I read the step-by-step instructions from other people on TMS and have all the tips needed.
One question still remains though: why shouldn't I use rivets on the plates, instead of the sheet metal screws provided with the kit? It seems to me as the better option because they provide both better fastening and smoother looks.
Any thoughts?

Yes, I agree with the emblem there. Also, replace the "GT" gas cap emblem with that same one.
