I have seen what looks to be 2 different colors of the 1967 GT350 gas cap cover, On almost all of the GT350's its Gold with the Black Snake and GT350, on the Red GT350's though it looks like its Silver with a black snake. Did the Gas Cap cover change depending on the color of the car, or was there only one color?

Thanks

Donnie

Cmon 37 views and no one knows the answer??? Brad??? Anyone ?

I need to know this so I can have my decal made correctly to look just like 1967 GT350 emblem on the Red cars.

I sent an e-mail to Tony Branda, who is one of the leading distributors of Shelby parts. It may take a while for him to get back to me though. As far as I know, there is only one '67 GT350 gas cap.

My advice to you is to not get it though. I toyed with this idea for a while, but not only did I not want to put actual "Shelby GT350" badging on my car (I want it to be more of a tribute than a clone), but I really don't think the '67 cap will fit the '05 decklid. The older caps are contoured, while the new ones are completely flat. I'll post a pic of what I mean. And I don't think some thick 3M tape is going to cover this up.

I found a pic of a red GT500 and it definitely has the gold gas cap. I am 99.9% sure that all the color Shelby's had gold badges and gas caps.

Actually I am going to have a decal company recreate the look of the 67 gas cap for me as a decal. I just want to make sure I have the right look.

To me it looks silver on the red one....I guess only Tony Branda will know.

Branda says it's gold... so go with the gold. He said there is only one style/color '67 gas cap, so you will be ok with the gold one.
