I heard the fanblades were 18x9's.
Personnally I HATE those wheels, but I'd like to see the bulge on them for comparisons.
I was only guessing they were 18x8s. I was basing in on the fact that on tirerack, if you choose a 18x8 aftermarket wheel, its recommended tire size is 255/45/18. I know that the tires on the fans are 255/45/18 by just looking close at the pictures. So, I really have no idea what width the wheels are, I was only speculating. I would be interested to find out though. Any ideas on how? I eventually would like to get 18s, and I am assuming I will get 18x8s b/c one would have to have a crazy positive offset for them not to stick out more than stock, and that is something I will not bend on. I can't stand wheels that stick out.

StangNut,
These are a couple pics with the Fanblade 18's from the NAIAS last January, showing tire to wheel lip opening perspective.

That's why I won't comprimise and get wheels that are really made for '04's like I've seen most people do. I can put up with the 1/2" 18x9's will add with a +45mm offset, but adding another inch with the +25mm offset is just WAY too much.

I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of that for a while on the '05's. Either because people are too impatient to wait for the correct size, they don't know any better and some idiot wheel salesman told them they'd fit, or they just don't care.

Personnally, like I said before, I think the bulge is too much on the 18x8's. Take a look at pictures of where people have put 255's on the stock 17x8's. Those are right at the limit for me if not a little over, as far as the bulge goes. If you add a 1/2" of wheel (1" total) to go up to 18's, you have less tire sidewall so the bulge would be even more.

The pictures above show me I wouldn't want to go down to an 18x8. That amount of bulge is fine with me.

I really think those are 9's. They look more like the other pics I've seen with 255/45/18's on 18x9's. The pics of 255/55/17's that are on stock wheels have a huge bulge.

As for the tire to wheel lip distance, (I assume that's what you were talking about when you said perspective) That car looks lowered. Putting 255/45/18's on there shouldn't change that distance. If it does, it means the diameter of the tire is larger and the speedo is off.

Yes, they are 18 x 9 rims, with 255/45R18 tires mounted on them.

Well, I honestly have no idea. Here are the tires on my current car. The rims, I am fairly certain, are 17x8s. (though my dad claims they are 9" wide, I would swear the websites I have seen say 8) The tires are 255/45/17s. By the way, ignore her wounds...they are fixed now. I found a pole one night.

Fanblades are 9" rims.

The show car is likely lowered a bit. However, bringing the wheel outward (via a wider rim) will make the wheel gap appear smaller. The current 17x8" rims sit inside the fender by 1-1.5" and that makes the gap appear larger.

Tim,
I would think since those look like the rims offered from the factory for your car they are 8" wide, but there's almost no bulge in those 255's so maybe they are 9's.

Not sure why you included the pics of those rims. Those are the same ones that were on my 97 GT. They are not the fan blades.

I know. They are off of my '98. I was trying to deomonstrate what the 255s looked like on what is supposed to be an 8" rim. However, I am becoming convinced they are 17x9s. Nothing more than for illustrative purposes.

[attachmentid=10754]Heres a picture of my car with 18x9.5" Kazara KZAs and 285/40/18s. They are also available in a dark finish.

I have alot of other pictures of these wheels listed on my website.

Do you have a website for Kazara? I can't find anything on them.
Most importantly, though, what's the offset?

There are a couple of Kazara wheels on www.tirerack.com.

I believe they have the ones seen on s197pilots car, as well as a black five spoke with a machined lip. relatively inexpensive too.

Ah. That's why I couldn't find them. I did a search for Kazara.
They're Kazera.
Nice wheels. Good price. They even offer them in black.
Thanks.

The 18" are around $300 each at This place. I would like to see them in person to see how dark they really are. They are also available in bronze which might offer a nice contrast.

Here's mine with the 18x9.5 Kazera's on the back and the 18x8.5 on the front.
I did a little photo chop to see what it would look like with the black stripe on the side. It is just a concept though that I am putting together for the "Painter Man".
