Privat (a division of Konig) has some good looking wheels (as does Konig), but their customer service needs some work.

I was wanting some second opinions on these rims.

http://www.enkei.com/LuxurySpecPAGES/LM15SSpecs.html

I would like the 18x9's, but is the 38 offset going to be enough so they don't stick way out of the wells? Otherwise I guess the 18x8's would have to do.

Let me know what you all think.

I thought Konig wheels were crap. I heard nothing good about them. All of the chrome ones (according to a local dealer) chip and flake within a year.

I thought the same thing, but since swingle was able to get the '03 Mach 1 rims to fit on his 2005 as-is, shouldn't these fit as well?
Yes he got them to fit, thing is though, he left the 235's on the front, and they *barely* fit. I saw them in person, and any fatter tires on the front would have stuck out quite a bit. So if you want to use older model wheels, they will fit as long as you dont put any fatter tires on em.

I'm looking at getting the silver ones. They respond to my emails within the day. They said they will have a higher offset version of the Profil's in approx 3 weeks. I'm looking at getting the 18 x 9.5

The 38mm offset should be OK. They will stick out a little under an inch. Remember, just going up to the 9" wheel makes it stick out half an inch anyway so you're not adding that much more.
I'm not trying to discourage you from the 9's though. In fact I think the 8" rim is just too small for a 255 tire. Others don't think so, but I don't like the stock 245's on my '03 GT's 8" rim. Just too much bulge for me.
That's one reason the '05's tires look so strange to us. We're not used to seeing a tire that almost fits the rim. A 235 tire on a 205 rim. That combined with the tall sidewall and there's almost no bulge. And that makes it look even taller.

Yes, but not enough to pull almost the same thing off the car. Especially with how much new wheels and tires are gonna cost.

StangNut,
I returned to you a couple e-mail replies.
I think what you were looking for is found in exterior mods, under topic title of Got my rims/tires today.
These pics are of our member HOTLAP, and were originally posted January 20th.

Anybody know if somebody is going to be making the Shelby Style V6 rims in 18"s?

Thanks, Jack. Just sent you an email and a PM.
His wheels have a +24mm offset.
That's why they stick out as far as they do.
A little too much for my taste.

StangNut,
Yah, thats what I thought also, about them outside more than I would want, and was a bit pricey also. As long as he likes it on his, guess thats fine. The stock wheels will do me just fine.

My thing with the stock wheels & tires is they look too narrow for the car and the sidewall is too tall.
It's funny what the body can do to the look of the tires.
225's looked fine on my old Foxes and 245's were huge and gave just the right look. Now 235's look like bicycle tires and the 255's are the minimum width for the '05, IMHO.
Also the sidewall on a Fox was a LOT more than my '03, but I've gotten so used to them, the '05 looks too large. However, I'm not going with 19's because the sidewall is too small. Looks too much like my '03. I'm tired of always wondering if my tire pressure is low.
It's amazing how much tire and wheel width have to do with the look of the sidewall. That's one reason the '05's look so tall. With the aspect ratio being so high and the tire being narrow the 235/55/17's don't bulge out much on that 8" rim. If I went down to a 7" rim, they'd look smaller.

I agree. My '98 has 255/45/ZR17 on it. I think the rims are 17x8. The 45 series doesn't bulge out at all on them. The new ones' tires are far too high profile, which is why I would like to see the 18x8 fanblades up close. They have 255/45/ZR18's on them, and they don't seem to bulge too bad. I just wish they would go ahead and offer them already.

I heard the fanblades were 18x9's.
Personnally I HATE those wheels, but I'd like to see the bulge on them for comparisons.
