I've looked at so many wheels and wheel sites, I'm getting discouraged.
Everytime I find a set of wheels I like, they're only 7" or 8" wide.
The market is obviously cattering to the import crowd, but we need wider wheels.
I'd prefer real black (not hyper black) or gunmetal, but I'm desperate so I'll have them powder coated or painted if I have to.
Thanks for the help.

I agree. I just think it will take some time. I love the bullitt wheels, but want them in 18X9 (with possibly 18X10 rears). No aftermarket wide bullitts yet for the 05, and I don't really like the American Racing ones for some reason.

I also really like the SSR GT3 in Satin, but they are a lot of $$$, $560 each and up.

Wheelmax has a nice knock off of the GT3, but only 8" wide.

Tire Rack has a few 18 and 19 X 9's for less than $250 each.

StangNut,
Have at look at these ADR Cypher wheels. They are available with the correct 45mm backspacing.

Those are nice. Any idea on cost? Is it me or does the gunmetal look black?

The 18" are around $300 each at This place. I would like to see them in person to see how dark they really are. They are also available in bronze which might offer a nice contrast.

Ckeck out these wheels if you want a little lighter "GunMetal". They have a picture of these on a Rdefire Mustang that looks great

Edit: here's the picture

Went to ADR's site, Boss.
They have a lot of good looking wheels, but none of the ones I liked came in the right size.

I really like these Ford racing wheels...

they are 18x9, and also come in chrome or black. I'm not sure if they fit though (bolt pattern is the same, backspacing is different).

... and a pretty quick photo-chop (sorry, this is the largest I could find the wheels in a profile view).

Actually those are at the very top of my list, but the offset is wrong.
I'm hoping FRPP comes out with a set for the 05.

I thought the same thing, but since swingle was able to get the '03 Mach 1 rims to fit on his 2005 as-is, shouldn't these fit as well?

The bolt pattern is the same, so yes, you can put them on there, but they have a +23mm offset.
This means they'll stick out almost an inch compared to the stock wheels.
Add in the fact that these are an inch wider and that tacks on another 1/2" they'll stick out.
I don't think having the wheels stick out an extra inch & a half would look good, but that's just me.

Like StangNut said, you can make an 8" wheel with the old offset work on the new stang such as the Mach 1 wheel. But any wider of a rim with that offset and it sticks out for sure. Swingles got an 11" tire on those 8" rims too which I think is too wide for the rim but to each his own. His car looks great though and I love the Mach 1 wheels on it, wish they were available in wider rims with the proper offset.

They are available through Discount Tire Direct.
It says they have a 35mm offset for the 18x8.5's.

They're not perfect, but they're only off by 10mm so they'd fit better than any made for the old bodystyles.

These aren't too bad. They're from the same company mentioned above, Privat Wheels. I wish the "arms" weren't tapered so much though.
Best of all they come in BLACK!
They even have a video of the wheels.
