18X9 Chrome Bullitts
#1
Just got my 18X9 Chrome Bullitts put on yesterday and thought I would post some pictures. These have a 36mm offset with a 6.42" backspace. On this size wheel I think the offset is perfect - the tire sits close to the edge of the fender but does not protrude beyond it.

Very nice wheels. And I really like your stripes. Great car... one of the best on here. I would get your tail pipes fixed though... they need to be centered. The left one in that rear close up picture above is too far to the left. Not only is there a chance of it burning your bumper, but it would just look better pushed over (and down a bit too).

Thanks for the comments!
About the muffler alignment, I noticed it too. Its odd but it stands out more in the picture than it seems to in real life. I'll have to get under there tomorrow and see if I can straighten them out since I did the installation.

Oh, those are 255's correct?
I wonder how a fat juicey set of 275's would look? ..hummm.

Your car looks great! Is it lowered? Looks like it is.

Actually, its not lowered. I was waiting to see the car with the new wheels and tires before making my decision on whether to lower it or not. I like how it looks as is and I think I will not be lowering it, especially with all of the negatives associated with changing the front end geometry.
I might change my mind later, but I think for now I will start focusing on performance modification.

Yes, they are 255/45-18. I think wider would look good in the back, but not in the front. I will be putting a lot of miles on this car and need to be able to rotate the tires to maximize tread life so I decided to stick with 255's all around. Also, to keep the same tire diameter you would need to go with a 285/40-18 which requires a minimum 9.5" rim and I haven't seen any Bullits for the '05 yet with the proper offset

Regardless, I like the idea of 255's. Cheaper, wide enough and a perfect size if you want the same tires on all four corners.

275's need a 9.5" rim? I thought 275's are fine on 9" rims. Is that not what the 03/04 Cobras came with as rolling stock?

Your car looks great Doug. I'm going with the same tire setup as you; 255/45/18 BFG KDW2s. They are a good width, and I prefer the same width on all four corners also, to allow for rotation from front to back. How much were your 18x9 bullitts?
I have been planning on purchasing the '06 fanblades from Ford when they are available, but those bullits look very nice. I'm assuming that the fanblades are 18x8, rather than 18x9. I'm guessing that a 18x8 wheel will fit with a 255/45/18 tire. Can anyone verify this?
