according to Tire Rack - the largest width you can use on an 8" wheel is 255.

The proper tire for that sized wheel is 255/45/18 - it puts the spedo off like 0.4% or something - which is like less than 0.5 mph @ 60.

:nono: Most 275's fit correctly on a 9" wide wheel. As they are a 10" tire. Manufactures widths vary and most are too wide for a 8" wheel to perform safely.

It is about "aftermarket" Ford rims - It shows some 18" Bullits that are 8.5" wide - plus some others. I am not sure of their availability as of right now. But if you have yet to get your car - you may want to wait a tad bit more and try to "work" these wheels into your deal for your car. That's what I am thinking about doing. I'd like that little extra width. I think your sidewalls would like it too.

They are...... 255's are the upper limit for that width.

go for the 285/60/18 BFG GForce TA kdw
http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/asset...rce_ta_kdw.pdf
fits on 8-10 inch rims
+ lots of sidewall to fill the wheel wells
don't know if it will actually fit inside the wheel wells... but if you try be sure to let us know

also, a 275/50 will fit on an 8 inch wheel, too, if you can find that size. Nitto has one for a 17 inch wheel.

Wow... 285/60-18 is a frikkin huge tire!! It's about 31.5" tall... yikes. I love big fat tires more than most people on these boards, but I doubt that would be a good choice for these cars. I also don't see how in the heck it would fit right on a 8" wheel. Of course, that's just my opinion.

When I had my 275/50s installed the first time, the ******** at the tire store mounted them on my stock 8" wheels instead of the new 17x9's I brought for them to use. And frankly, 275/50s on an 8" wheel looked scary. The way the bead was pulled way in did not look safe to drive on.

Do you have any idea on how far off the speedo would be with a 60 series tire? Also I am pretty sure it would rub. My 285/40's come pretty close as it is. You should go as close to stock when you can, and that is the 285/40's.

Just keep in mind that the 285/60 has a minimum rim size of 8". That would make the sidewalls buldge just a bit, but I sure don't think they would look good on the car.

I have seen people put 275's on 8" wide wheels and haven't heard of any problems... but I would still go no higher than 255's, just to be safe. You won't like the buldge in the sidewall anyway with 275's.
