Anyone know the weight diff??

Also....You guys are pretty happy with

255-45/18 front
285-40/18 Back

I was looking at Discount tire and I couldnt find a brand and model that does both.
Ideas? I want the same tread pattern and tire model....
Hey man - I had the Am Muscle anthracites on my old black '05 - they should weigh a bit more than stock (I would guess) but not an INORDINATE amount - I remember taking them outta the box for the first time and was like 'dang these things are LIGHT'.... so your bro is off base

Discount used to have their site listings set up differently - I got my current setup through them. A while after I ordered, they changed how they list the wheels and for me, its next to impossible to even find my setup on there again (they list then my measurements instead of style first, etc...)

If you CALL, they are real helpful on the phone and can get you that setup (wheels you want AND tires).

Looking at old pics after I first got the 06, I am SO happy with the setup - I do like the Ford 18 inch bullitts but the view of the car from the back with those old tires compared to the 285s is NO contest

here's one I have - don't worry about it - they are EVEN with the wheel well at the most, not sticking out past it

Dear Santa,

This year I've been a very good boy. Please can you send me a set of those lovely wheels above? Don't bother with wrapping paper, just wrap 'em in rubber

Don't you guys think a 285 is a bit excessive for a V6? I don't really have traction issues with the stock 235's on my GT. I plan to get 255's eventually but I can't imagine a V6 would ever need more than a 255.

I hate you! Nice stance, now I guess I have to save some green for springs...

Shaun, man your gonna lose alot of height with the 35 profile, I think I would take that into consideration...Diameter Difference: 5.89% (front) from stock... why not go with 40 profile instead?

That's true John. That would put it a bit taller than the rear... I think. I don't believe that Toyo caries a 275/40 series tire, either. I've researched the heck out of this and this is the best I can come up with the consideration to the rear tires.

These are my personal standards for choosing my tires...
-rear tire has to be at least 295mm.
-front tire can't be taller.
-haven't seen any 295/40 series... don't like the 45 series old school hot rodders rake.
-like the wide and low look of a corner carver.
-can't break the bank... lol.

I've seen another ride with this setup and it looks super mean. I forget his name... he is on this site though with a black GT, with the Shelby frontend.

here's a bad quality picture of the 18x9s and 18x10s on my ride. The 9s aren't deep dish, but I like the look.
