17" vs. 18" wheels
I believe there's been some other posts on this. If someone could point me to them, that's be great.
What is the overall difference in ride quality between 17 and 18" wheels? Is it significant for any of you who have switched? I would understand that the 18's would provide a stiffer ride for the sake of performance but wondering how much. What exactly do they mean when they say the shocks will be tuned to accomodate the new wheels? Do they mean the shocks will be adjusted to provide more damping? Any comments on this or redirection to other posts would be appreciated.

Yes, the 18" rims would be a little stiffer ride and they would actually DECREASE performance by a minor amount due to the increased weight (normally) unless you go with an 18" that is lighter than a 17".
I'd say go with what you think looks better as you probably won't notice that much of a difference either way.

However, performace is generally INCREASED IMO. Handling is VASTLY improved and you now have even more traction for launching. The additional few pounds per tire isn't going to offset these benefits.

Hmmm, I wonder if the aftermarket will come out with a 17" version of the 18" Fanblade... that could be interesting. The looks and the ride comfort, all in one package.

It would be interesting to compare the 18s and BFGs I have now with 17s with the same tires.
The handling is increased a TON, but probably more due to the wider (and much better) tires than to the increased wheel size.
I thought I noticed a little bit of a stiffer ride when I first put the 18s on, but I don't notice it anymore. I'm just enjoying taking corners much faster now, without any tire squeal at all.
It all comes down to personal preference - if you want 18s, go for it. Any subtle difference in ride quality will not make a difference IMO.

Stiffness is about the same to me...
Handling has improved, alot of twisting back roads around my way... The car feels more stable with an increase of speed through the turns (seat-of-the-pants feel)
