Brad, I saw one and the local "stealership" and they seem HUGE in person. Although, I think they look fine in pics. I think they may be bigger than the '65 ponies. I guess they'll just take some getting used to, but if I had to choose right now, I'd go with the 99-04 ponies. Just seems like they'd be more in proportion.
Here are some pics I found. The MG one is a custom deal.

I asked the same question about the size. I held up the earlier pony and the 06 pony for my wife to evaluate and she liked the 06 much better. I had her hold them up and the earlier pony seemed clearly too small for my taste.

the ponies are HUGE, they are the biggest ones that ford made, IMO i think if you use the prior ones they will look really small on the fender
thats my mineral grey sixer, i had no holes so i put them closer to the bottom of the "Scoop" area, kinda like the 65/66 fastbacks

One thing that makes them look so big compared to the 65 ponies is the width. The original ones were more narrow but probably the same height.

I just happen to have some of the 65/66 ponies and the 06 Ponies. The 06 is the bigger of the two. And the pin holes in the back are different, so there will have to be some trimming for them to fit. Also, the metal is concave on the back, so it would be harder to get double sided adhesive to stick to it.

Nice ride, I like the Mach 1 rims, they look great on this body style.

WOW. I didn't think they were THAT much bigger.
I'd like to see a pic like that of the '06 ponies compared to the '04 ponies. Those were some small emblems.

some ppl use dental floss between the emblem and double-sided tape. i used that on one and then thin fishing line on the other emblems. use a lot of goo gone to soften up the adhesive. and yes, using a hair dryer, heat, will also release the adhesive easier as well.
once the emblem is off the double-sided tape along with liberal doses of goo gone will promote the loosening of the tape from the car. the tape is strong. it should pull and stretch a lot but not tear hopefully. and then it will come off. soak the tape, spongue material, with the goo gone to promote realse of the adhesive.
just let it sit for a while, drenched in goo gone, if it doesn't want to come off. the goo gone loosens her up over time.
changed my "GT" trunk emblem to a pony too. that was a bear. the side fender emblems are relatively easy.
kevin also convinced me to put pony emblems inside of the doors. i love them too. last items will be pony wheel center caps.![04](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/04.gif)

I would like to change the gas cap GT emblem? How do you do it? where do you get the emblems from??

I think BobWhiteDecals has some stickers you can use to cover up the GT emblem.
