I can't speak for the size, but the only Nittos I owned were good when I first got them but once they had some miles on them (10 - 12k) I noticed more road noise and they certainly didn't like rain too much. I noticed handling issues on wet pavement after about 12k miles. I won't buy Nittos again. Had a lot of good luck with Hankook tires.

Rims and tires

I think these are the tires and rims I am going to go with. The rims are a little more pricy than the magnum 500 rims. But since no one has them in stock this seems to be my only option. I also like the foot print of the BF Goodrich tires and I want to keep all four tires the same size, so I can rotate them. Thanks for the comments.

You should look at the kmc nova wheels. They look just as retro but are more modern. IMO the ones you were saying we're discontinued look too small and dainty on the s197s. The nova looks bigger and you can get some cool finishes too. Just a thought if you haven't bought some already

don't know if you are going 18 or 20 inch, look very different in 18's just my opinion. like the 20's better but don't like the harsher ride and weight of 20's. the 18's are what i was thinking about, but a club member was selling his gt4's with nitto's 285/40/18 and 255/45/18 with less than 1500 miles for $750 and could not pass them up.

Great looking car! I have a few of those items already on my list when I start my vintage tribute (ironically we both have the same color). The place I was going to get those quarter window louvers/panel went out of business and I didn't get the name of them. Does anyone know what they're called?

Edit: I found them on AM. They're just *hidden*. I don't know why they don't come up on their quarter window page but if you Google them they magically appear by themselves.

That's a pretty good look. The spoiler needs to be black though.
